  1. Your all gonna hammer me now I know but isn't all just variations on the same rig???? theres nothing much different apart from where the hook or bait is positioned as far as I can see, so maybe its time for a new rig, I remember when the hair rig came out there was so much secrecy & whisperings going round our lake at the time & fair play it made a difference BACK then but now I believe a rig is just a rig, fish dont know you've spend 15 hours making it or whatever they're just interested in the hookbait aren't they to be fair???
  2. Never had any problems Jake never had one snap on the knot so if it ain't broke i'm not gonna fix it you know???
  3. Not sure what i'm using on the hook its through the eye round the shank 5 times & back through the loop thats formed???which ones that??? its quite strong I know that!! For a hair I put the line through the hook, form a loop wrapping the line round the shank 8 times roughly & then go back through the hook, not sure what that ones called either but i've been using it for years & its never let me down so its all good. One i'd add to the list is the double overhand loop ... now I know the name of this one only cos I read about it once & that its great for forming the loop in end of hair rigs :D
  4. SORTED!!! if you stick luncheon meat in the sun as well it gets a nice tough coat to it, almost perfect for rolling down a river or simply to keep the luncheon meat on better on a long cast, if I were you though mate get a pocket knife ( be careful ) & an uncut tin loaf crusty preferably & try that it'll beat any chum mixer this early on in the season. To hook it simply sew it on 3-4 times through the crust using nothing smaller than a size 10 hook & i'd use nothing smaller than an inch or 3 cm's cubed square piece of bread not forgetting to leave the flake sticking out of the flake rather than crushing the hook into it as thats what the carp go for is the flake I think personally GOOD LUCK
  5. Soak them in a bait box with a small amount of water after 20 mins or so take all the water out & leave the bait box in full view of the sun for at least another 1/2 hours so they dry out again but still stay rubbery enough to stay on the hook properly & you'll be able to hook them easily also.
  6. You can get imitation doggy biscuits haven't tried them but if the fake luncheon meats anything to go on i'd think it to be good mate might be worth a look
