Thanks for the tips guys I did manage to get catch one in France using the snowman with the bottom bait sliding on the hair, so may give that a go in the future.

I have a bit of a numpty question regarding the snowman rig, after a bit of a search I am still stumped With the snowman rig my bottom bait slides down the hair and sits against the hook and leaves a gap between the bottom bait and the pop up. How do I resolve this?
