  1. That brings back some good times i remember that nov well! i was fishing st johns at the time..i had a 19lb common which i think is now called the orig long common.. i can remember being on st johns for a week and there was not one other angler on the lake i then moved onto manor the spring after sir mooresy had popeye Again could do a few days without many on the lake. first session i did a lad from manchester popped down for a 48 and had a 35 mirror from the old back bay!

  6. new waters coming soon http://www.coventrycarpclub.co.uk/ http://coventrycarpclub.blogspot.com/
  7. I'm sure with a good bailiff and policing,,it would be sorted.. i know it would be extra costs but will pay for itself in the long run and benefit the fishery
  8. well done lads some lovely fish very tidy Lewis did you take a cleaner with ya
  9. i have fished barston may times over the last few years and have done very well. i have gone to barston knowing its going to be a runs water with smaller carp on the menu, i am a carp angler, but also enjoy a bend in my rods when other ventures are a bit slow, i will be taking part in the midland masters in august, which will be my first carp match ,,and must say looking forward to it very much. With regards to the groups and fires, i have seen a few uneducated i***ts. and have done a many waters..im sure a few mesures can be put in place to sort this.. it is a cracking lake with lovely surrounding and top class facility's too, well done!
  10. we have just brought a static caravan on the holiday park just behind bradleys,, iv had a chat with a few of the locals, and they did say that there has been a few odd cases of tackle thefts ,on a few of the waters on the watermark.. Bradley's has taken measures by installing new locked gates which is combination lock, only know by paying anglers. its a sad fact these days that this goes on at a lot of waters..if in doubt take a friend or fish in groups if possible. i always take my k9 friend with me on nights now,,and make sure his teeth have had a good sharpen before hand,,as important as my hooks
  11. im going down on wed lots of gravel ,,try and find the silt patches
  12. some cracking pine pools fish there
  13. fished there Friday and the carp were spawning all the way along the river bank ..1000s of carp had one on a zig fished over depth
  14. not putting lavender hall down ..as it does what is say on the tin!! but id fish barston over lavender any day..is not even 1 mile away.. barston gives you much more water to fish, the surroundings are much nicer...and although it does have lots of small fish it is stacked with carp..1000s not 100s
  15. i cannot comment on fishing the island because its an area that iv yet to fish.. for few reasons one being its aways the first place that gets biz, and has allot of pressure.. as for the wind its is a big factor iv found, and not just a warm SW.. there are a few other key areas that are always worth a look at barston ..the fountain which always holds fish,, the out of bounds by the 18th green..the gravel bar,,silt spots, margins. and on and on but the bigger fish are the harder to pin point! going for a good full day session tomorrow so hope to get a few
