  1. Ok thanks for that. Was the water levels low back then and is the weed all over the lake. I drove over there earlier and got the combination to get in the gate but had no rods with me as all I wanted was a look round. Looked full of weed
  2. Hve fancied a go on the Holland Brook for a while. Has anybody given it a go?
  3. Has anybody fished these waters? Jerrys lake and Jacks lake. I went for a look round early and they both look nice waters but didnt see any other anglers to have a chat with. The water looks quite low on Jacks lake and they both look quite shallow to be honest. Any feedback on the lakes would be appreciated. Cheers Bryan
  4. Yeah the other pond used to be used as well so I have heard. Having fished this lake for around 3 years now I have caught the big ghost carp at 27lb 8oz and a mate I fish with has caught a common of 21lb. I seriously doubt if there is a 30lber in there as we have never caught or heard of anybody catching it. There is a lot of fish in there and being a small water its not to difficult to catch from it. Still always nice to have membership as it is a lovely little lake with a good chance of getting a bend in the rod.

    Thicky's book

I enjoyed both Terrys books, although I think the 1st one he did was better than the 2nd. As for which one is better..... I think they are all good books, which gets the entusiasm going whenever I read them.

    Thicky's book

Ordered a few, well 5 fishing books the other day, and Mickys was the first I chose to read. A throughly good read that had me laughing all the way through. I read it in 3 days, just couldnt put it down.# I would recommend it to anybody who likes reading carp fishing stories.
  7. been looking for this book and on Amazon its got a couple of used ones for £40. Is it worth paying £40 for it?
  8. Yeah membership happens every March. Ive been told the waiting list is quite long. At least 50 people and seeing as there is only 150 members max it could take a long time to get on there. It is a bit silly beause whenever ive fished, there has only been a maximum of five people on there. Quite a lot of the members live away and only fish when they come down on holiday in the summer months.
  9. Another old thread dig up. I joined this lake last year and have caught from there most sessions. Like has been mentioned the margins produce well and in the summer they are quite catchable off the top. The stock of carp that I know of are 4 fish over 20lb's with two that go above 30lb at the right time of year. One common and one mirror. There is also a ghost carp that was last out at 26lb. There are also quite a lot of high doubles as well.My biggest from the lake is 17lb so hoping to better that this year. All in all I think its a good lake with a good chance of a fish or two in a short space of time. For £35 a season you cant go wrong. x2gsd, Seeing as you were a member did you ever see any catfish in the lake? Iv heard a rumour that there are some in there but they have never been caught. Just wondered if you had heard anything similiar?
  10. Sorry for digging up an old thread but wondered if anybody has been to the Weeley lake lately. I see the other lakes are finished and wondered if they are any good? Does anybody know about the stock for the new lakes?
  11. no there definatly isnt. where else do you fish around the area.
  12. This may be a bit old, but i have fished weeley about 15 times. the only time i have caught a fish was at 4.30am in the middle of summer. i had two in about 30 mins, otherwise i have caught nothing. however i go with a mate who one summers evening had three over 20lb in about two hours.
