    Just getting back into carp fishing and haven't fished the place for a couple of years! I know its changed a fair bit now, just wondering if anyone has abit of advice for the meadow or lower lake? Probably head there late next week, always remember the pads swims on the meadow lake used to produce a lot of fish for me. Cheers Pete

    I'm afriad not I've never seen any other carp! I feeder fished it last summer and caught plenty of tench all of average size but all good fun and a bite a chuck

    I reckon the Koi has definatley died. I go round that lake almost every day and ive not seen it since that awful winter the other Christmas i reckon that lake almost froze solid as its so shallow. Shame was an awesome fish!

    Cheers for the advice. I'm fishing here now wall side by the weed, just caught a mint conditioned 12lb common hopefully bigger things to come!

    I got one in the end! Fished it twice so far caught a 16lb, 2 14lber's and a 10lber. Lost 3 and one was a decent mirror gutted Fishing a tricky swim though right in the weed! Going down tomorrow for another go hopefully a 20 soon!

    Just wondering if anyone on here has bought one and fishes it? As if nobody comes round to check i may not get one as im starting university in just over a month just wondering if anyone checks regularly?     Yeah i think so! If you think how much koi carp half that size go for! A fish like that would be in the thousands lol

    Nothing big then, yea i saw a picture of it at 26lb it was gaining huge weight over a short period of time. But i walk past it every day and havent seen it, im not sure whether its either died or been stolen. Its in the Shawbirch, Dothill area not far from wellington mate.

    Just thought I'd let people know its Free fishing there now for the time being as the Wrekin angling club don't run it any more. Was also wondering if anybody's ever fished it and if it contains any good carp as i know it used to contain a big Koi at 20 plus pounds but i havent seen it for at least 6 months! Any info would be much appreciated

    Yes very true Jez! Fish can only get bigger over the years. And flash same as I said earlier take a look for yourself I'm sure the angler wouldn't lie then put it on the tackleshop front Lol

    Take a look for yourself its on the door as you walk into the tackle shop, its a big fish really solid! Defo a mid twenty in my books but im no expert you can all come to your own decisions.

    Ive just come back from the tackle shop in wellington, and on the outside there was a pic of a 27lb common from apley pool! never knew that place contained such a fish? pete
