no not now used belong to Newhaven Deap Sea Anglers had boats all my life until a few years back things became very hard after the GPS became so cheap now you can find all the wrecks blindfold, they were fished out years ago, I used to crew for Seabreaze a charter boat from Newhaven we were doing three day french trips and taking 70 - 80 congers every trip along with cod and pollack you get 6 boats doing that everyday and it doesnt take long for things to stop producing, so thats when I came back to carp fishing a lot easier I can tell you.

yeh sounds good may well have a look at that one, the biggest conger I had was 75lbs not as big as some cats but it was about 30 meters deep with a fast tide running took some shifting I can tell you, but the fun really starts once there on the boat.

No likewise, Wintons is a lovely venue but so pressured I had one run which I missed and that was that never got back there again, yeh fancy a go at a cat or two with 4 rods i can keep one on em all the time, I have caught lots on conger eels when out in the boat they dont half hang on as Matt Hayes would say I suppose they are the nearest I come to having a cat.

no I havnt the only place I have fished that had them was Wintons but I was Carp fishing that day, so am looking forward to getting some pussy whilst on holiday

Yes they like there comfort, waveney just set me back £530 for the week for me and the Mrs and I can fish 4 rods and thats in a Caravan not bad I thought, the swim is just outside the door perfect.

Thats right, just had a look at Blackthorn yeh looks good a little exposed needs some more cover still it has the makings of a very nice fishery, but yes a tad pricey,

Yes you are so right I would have gone there with a negative attitude and that is not good, whereas Waveney does give me enough confidence to hopefully catch both carp and cats the reports look good anyway, but yes wait for the knockers

Ok guys, its not often I will admit defeat but this time I have to say I have fallen by the way side, My intentions were as you know to give Wildmoor a try, you all said I was mad and shouldnt but I thought it cant be as bad as you all say, well after a number visits to various web sites and various forums I have to say I agree there have been to many negative reports of lack of fish for me to contemplate spending my hard earned cash on a luxury cabin and a lake with fish that cannot be caught.I have had conversations with Alison at Wildmoor who still assures me that they have over 450 fish up there, well this could be the case but only netting the place would confirm this.I have now booked a week at Waveney Valley Lakes, go on tell me this one is no better, The accomodation is not as nice but hey ho its the fishing Im going for after all, so if you have any positive comments about Waveney I would like to hear them, any negative ones please keep to yourself LOL cheers Pete.

I think we have done this one to death now, but rest assured I will go and give it my best shot when I return I will give a full and un biased account of my findings whatever happens so watch this space.

looking to go 30th April to 4th May just waiting for the Mrs to confirm she can get the time off.£425 for us both including fishing, cabin on the top lake cant be bad, and yes a full unbiased report on my return whatever happens.Theo,Did you get back to Shillinglee I may be at Passies 2 weeks time.

I take on board all your points, Which makes me even more positive to see for myself, besides its a holiday for the Mrs as well, somewhere she can relax and unwind, If I catch any fish it will be a bonus.

I have spoken with the fishery direct and they have confirmed that numbers of fish they state are correct, I guess they would wouldnt they, they say ther is a lot of bad press but also some good, so I thought they only way to find out is to give it a go, nobody has come back with anything positve perhaps they dont want you to fish it !!!!

not brave just up for a challange, have you fished it? If so what is your experiance there?

Just had a response from Alison at Wildmoor who confirms the fish are still in these lakes and it seems some people have been spreading rumours, I shall see for myself in due course as I am about to book the Top lake, hopefully I shall be able to report back with some positive news as I see most of these threads are from 2 years ago, at least I shall know one way or the other, anyone else got any views or up to date information.

Hi, thanks for that, yes just been looking at various threads here and there and it seems that most of the fish were taken out of these lakes? very dissapointing, be happy if anyone can confirm this or has any up to date information, lovely place to fish but if there aint no fish its an expensive mistake to make.

Hi guys, I am looking to book a weeks fishing at Wildmoor Waters and have the choice of any of the lakeside lodges, has anyone got any ideas which would be the best one to book, It looks a fantastic place and I think cheap for what you are getting,so any advice greatly received.

Morning guys, I am thinking of taking the mrs on a fishing holiday, she doesnt know it yet, I am looking for lakeside accomodation caravan or lodge somwhere with some good sized carp and cats, a site with perhaps a restaurant or pub, had a look at Waveney Valley Lakes that looks good but would need to know what lake and what accomodation if anyone can advise I would be most greatful.

I take your point If I thought I could get a swim evertime I wanted to fish then maybe I would give it a go. Anyone else got any other venues with quality fish around the south coast area.
