Never heard of that place mate, where abouts is it and what is the fishing like???
-
Hi mate i'm a regular at Merrington so I fancy something abit different and theres only one known 30lber in there. This is the only week i could get off work, As long as the lake isn't stupidly big then thats ok.
-
They're to much of a camp site me mate. I want somewhere were it looks peaceful, i know it will probably busy but as long as i cant see many other anglers that would do me just fine oh and its got to have some good fish in the lake.
-
I'm willing to travel as far as the fishery is to be honest.
-
What good fisheries are there other than Bluebell, Richworth where Me and my old man can go for a weeks fishing. We're thinking of the last week in august and needs to be in this country. We want a good weeks fishing with the chance to catch a 30lb or two. Has anyone got any ideas????

Try and get onto one of the islands pegs(2,3,4,16,17,18) if not try 5,8,9,10,15 but you will be lucky to get oen of the really good pegs as its started to get really busy now compared to when i used to go. Dont put to much bait in and just fish for one bite at a time and find the underwater features. Oh and dont forget to order your breakfast every morning it saves cooking lol

Were you bloke on peg 18 then i was on peg1 and my dad was on peg 2 went home on the sat dinner. All i had was a 15lb 4oz mirror on the thursday night taken from the first island n a pop up. Yep i was that man Did you end up catching anything bar that pike???
-
You on about berth pool in shropshire thats on the other side of the road to birch grove, if so its still a very private syndicate that doesn't hold that many big fish.

Hi yeah there have been carp to low doubles out of the stratch but its mainly carp upto 9lb which are good sport and match gear. There are a few matchmen that fish it so i'll see if they will tell me anything about the ticket. The local tackle shop(Taylors) that sold the tickets has now closed so i need to find out who now sells the tickets now.

My local canal is at the end of my road, does anyone know where i can get a ticket for thsi stretch, It is inbetween Cauldon College and Birches Head bridge. anyone from Stoke will know where i mean.

I wanted to become a member at Copmere but i've been told that you have to be within the click to get a ticket. I fish Pershall next door which is hard but i still facny my chances at Copmere even if its just for the bream and pike. I never see anyone fishing copmere at all!! -
Sounds good, I had a long walk round it the other day and there are loads of swims that carpy to me. The forest side of the lake looks like there would be alot of carp holding up across there, and the islands look good but very snaggy. Do you know if the passanger boat desturbs the bottom much??
-
Where do you park your car as well?? What is stock of trentham is there a good head of carp.
-
I want to fish trentham but i thought they stopped the day tickets.

What size fish are still in there? id be intrested in fishing it if theres anything decent My dad blanked but he said that there were gale force winds as its quite open. There were no carp topping or no signs what so ever but judging by the photo album the farmer keeps there should be some good fish in there, a few of them looked close to 30lb. I haven't seen any carp come out so i'll hold judgement til a see for myself.
-
Yeah it is Froggets farm just go and knock on the farmers door, if you show him that your a decent bloke he'll let you fish it for a very small price. Some good fish in it too. My dad fished it a couple of month ago but with no luck on that trip.
-
Is it a bit clicky clicky on there?? I'm after carp mainly but if there are other species in a lake then i would sometimes target them just for a bit of sport. Any size really because a carp is a carp regardless of size but would be good to have a few big lumps in the photo album PM me the details, instead of putting them on the thread.
-
Just had a look at their wedsite and they have some good pools, might take a look at some of them. I'm told that there isn't many members so if i joined i would have the lake to myself or just have the odd other angler there
-
Yeah they've said that carp go to 30lb and cats got to just under 30lb. Its a nice looking lake but its just the 24hr thing i cant get my head round. What other good club waters are there around Staffordshire area. I'm still waiting for my Prince Albert membership bin on the list 2 years.
-
No PM received mate. Have you been a member before. I was told that Pershall is only a 24hr water. Its no good only being able to fish 24hr sessions at a time as i like to go for a few days and maybe a week sometimes.
-
Hi, if anyone has any info on Pershall Pool i would be very greatful. I think its owned by St. Leonards social club??? I've rang the club but it just keeps going to answer machine. PM me if you have info of joining the club, Thank you. Dave

Fair enough we all have concerns about stuff but you can easily test its strength by pushing something through the finished loop and pulling hard on it. Once you've made a few you wont look back. The bulk spool of esp stuff is very good it seems to blend with everything very well tbh and is supple and the lead itself doesnt fragment and come out the side as it does with other brands. You might get through a few splicing needles whilst learning - just be patient with it and you find a technique to pulling it through itself. I think i'll have to buy some over the weekend and take a few days to practice. The Maver premade ones always shot the lead out of the side. I'll get my rig making hands on at the weekend i think
-
Tell me about it, i might start and make my own because i make everything else myself bar the leadcore. As well you can say that you landed that fish on YOUR rig and not a pack one but then on the other hand if something snapped then your the only one to blame. I always thought like fishingaddict.
-
I always buy the pre made ones from Maver, only because of the fear that if i made it wrong then the carp will drag it around until the hook came out.
