  1. Why not upload 2 videos calling the first, part 1 and the second part 2?
  2. Well done to both of you a good write up and a great weeks fishing
  3. I haven't either, i've only used sizes 4,6,8 & 10. I've only ever used a size 4 in France and I mostly use size 8.
  4. I've never used shrink tube on any rig.
  5. Agreed I read this book a few months back and would highly recommend it. He does go quite deep into baitmaking in parts which goes over my head but its still interesting to read. There's loads of funny parts like people blanking for days, he turns up and has a couple in 30 minutes then leaves them to it
  6. Mate, As I say the best PVA going I regularly order from his shop (even if I do take the E-bay link I've saved in favourites ). Whenever I buy anything I forward a copy of the PayPal receipt and just check and confirm the delivery. I even get an e-mail confirmation (often personalised rather than the "mass produced" sale) back as well. Always spot on, arrives when he says. well i will take your word for it and give it a go, if i ever get back on the bank cheers It works out cheaper if you buy the 100 bag packs as well, its a bit more of an initial outlay but cheaper in the long run. My orders are usually for 200 bags and the last order I think I had 30 bags free.
  7. I've heard Matt Hayes say on a fishing program that rubbing it on your trousers takes kinks out of the line, its something to do with the heat produced from the friction.
  8. Mo's Co do 'lick and stick' bags which don't need any string or tape to make them. Just lick the bag and stick them together. I use these for most of my bags lately, they are much quicker to make than tying the top of bags and you don't have any bulky PVA knots taking ages to dissolve.
  9. I prefer a swivel on the end of my rigs because i'm more confident in the strength of my knot and swivel than I am in the strength of my loop knots.
  10. That would be my suggestion. I'd ditch the feeder and have a PVA bag that dissolves away leaving a pile of bait rather than having a feeder spooking the fish away. You shouldn't get any tangles with a PVA bag. The only downside is PVA bags can be more expensive if you don't lose many feeders.
  11. I know the lake/pond he's on about its 3/4 of an acre and has lots of lily pads, I don't think it has much weed. I'm sure it has a maximum of 6 anglers as well, that was the rules 2 years ago.
  12. There are already a few threads on hair length, the top link runs into 2 pages. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=33954&start=0 http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=41515&highlight=hair+length http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=28093&highlight=hair+length
  13. I bought a pack of silicon but can't remember which one I had I think its this one. ATOMIC Rockbottom Silicone Hook/Rig Sleeving http://www.englandangling.co.uk/displayProduct.asp?prodCode=atoRS I used to use normal rig tubing which split all the time then a mate put me onto this stuff. It still splits but very rarely, there seems to be a lot more flexibility in this tube. Hope this helps
  14. I would have thought the opposite, it may work on overstocked waters with smaller carp and lots of competition for food but would never have thought it would work with older, larger and wiser carp.
  15. I've tried a few times leaving a rig out overnight with just two pieces of artificial corn and have never had anything, but I have had a fair few when using one piece to tip a boillie. I have very little confidence in it on its own but one of my mates always has 2 pieces on at least one rod and doesn't do too badly, its one of his favourite baits. It winds me up when we have nutritious boillies for the carp then they go and get caught on a piece of plastic
  16. 4 miles is nothing really, its even walkable on a nice day Could a relative give you a lift? What about public transport?
  17. Its in the rules I have to use tubing now Been using tubing since January and I hate it as its sticks out like a sore thumb compared to almost invisible mono. 2m is a fair amount for 3 rods Sharpy, I just put 12 inches of tubing on.
  18. I use the korda Quick change links and have never had one break. I don't bother trying to disguise them, I think a small piece of black metal is better disguised on a lakebed than a chunky piece of rubber.
  19. How about the tried and tested rig on 2 rods and an experimental rig on 1 rod? Personally I'd use the tried and tested on all 3
  20. I've used Hybrid and don't mind it. My current UK PB was caught on a hybrid rig because I'd run out of IQ.
  21. I usually have a gap of around 10mm give or take a few mm's and don't have many problems with my hookhold. I'd suggest try some rigs with a 5mm and 15mm gap to see if that makes a difference. Carp feed differently in different lakes so what works in one lake may not work in another.
  22. Have a look on this thread. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=33954&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
  23. I like that quote
  24. I voted eyed hooks, I've never used spade hooks so didn't have much choice My current favourite hook is Kamasan B775 Barbed Carp Specialist Hooks.
  25. I bought a pack of these a couple of years ago, I think I had solar ones. I think I have 1 or 2 left but lost all the others. The pack I had also came with rubbers for hiding the quick change link and swivels. I thought they were quite good and also very easy to set up, I think i'll have to buy another packet or two and give them another go.
