  1. As Fosco said, a tube threader is the gadget. They used to use them years ago for threading the elastic through the tip sections in poles. It's a very slim section of wire, probably about three/four feet long with a loop on one end. Tie your line onto the loop, thread the other end through your tube and just pull it all through.... excellent bit of kit

    side hooking

Hmmmm... I feel Neil's gonna give up something interesting here if we ask nicely.... Pleaseeeeeee
  3. I agree there but it is all to produce conveience for the army of instant carpers coming onto the scene. There is no need to learn all those complicated knots as all you have to do is crimp crimp crimp... it's as easy as 1 2 3
  4. Ah right... I stand corrected then Nick, thanks for showing me up in public mate
  5. Not as far as I know Chris but it's just not something i'd like to do with my rigs mate
  6. So how's it all work with the Terry Hearn Combi rig (as someone else noted) and the various designs of chod rigs out there these days. I think on any given day either supple or stiff could work.

    side hooking

Nope When you say side hooking for wary carp how do you know how the rig is going to land. It may land with the side where you've buried the hook showing with the eye and shank of the hook right out in front
  8. I'm not a lover of crimping at all. Would not be happy to squeeze a crimp against my hooklink. any sort of kinks in the hooklink must surely lead to weakened spots however carefully you do it
  9. Why go with "hooklinks" Beeso - why not just go with the line straight off your spool Or if that's too thick then tie a thinner breaking strain o of about three feet or so
  10. I've used it and didn't get on with it Ben. I just found that it snapped a lot and had no confidence. I always steamed the knots into place and did it gently but I had a few hooklinks snap about in the middle of them and that was it for me - in the bin. Each to their own. Lots of anglers swear by it and have never had problems but for me, not thank you
  11. Click on this link... http://www.tacklebox.co.uk/ In the search box type in Stripper, click "go" and you'll have one come up for Snakebite/snakeskin stripper. I would think this will do the job
