  1. Traciesharp..... I am not sure you realise the implications for anglers fishing illegal venues and certainly nothing to 'lol' at.
  2. http://www.carp.com/topic/19034-is-your-french-holiday-safe/
  3. Pacific Peche is an OK tackle shop, still more expensive than the UK, but I would still advise you bringing everything you need as you dont want to spend valuable holiday time trying to buy stuff. I do trust that every angler coming to France knows the dire consequences of fishing illegal fisheries if caught during a raid by the Gendarmes. Guy... we have been strong advocates of fishery legality since we started Rushes as a legally registered SARL in 2003, I have been known to 'bang' on about it from time to time!! Hope you get the right answers G&K and I hope more anglers reading this will ask the right questions before booking.
  4. Im sorry Guy but if you think you can get decent bait from a tackle shop in France then you are wrong! All tackle is more expensive so I suggest you bring adequate supplies from the UK. You are right G&K the information on the website is old and there is no signs of a Siret or Siren Number either... please check they have one as without one then the fishery is illegal, and that can have huge consequences for anyone caught fishing.
  5. Due to a VERY late cancellation (unpaid balance ) 2 spaces in Goffees & Beatties w/c April 5th £175 each please pm me if interested Kim
  6. Will keep you updated Terry..... was supposed to be finished by October 2013!!!!!

Things you will get here... people who are dedicated to making your holiday the best it can ever be, fantastic food, a serious amount of fish to go for.. 3 swims on the same bank which is solely for your use & close enough to be social... fantastic facilities... 4.5 hrs from Calais... in glorious surroundings and leave knowing you have been truly spoilt We have 5 spaces available in July (none in April, May, June or September LOL) www.rusheslake.com
  8. Take 2.... He's now booked here Thanks Peter !

  10. According to google map directions we are 4hrs 13mins from Calais.. with the diversion at Rouen more like a comfortable 4hrs 30. I can do it in 4hrs but I do drive too fast LOL. However IF you are in a BIG RED BUS..... theres no knowing how long it takes LOL
  11. Better still Mike get them to become a forum sponsor. The advertising rates are reasonable and they wont be running the risk of self promotion or pming for business which is also a no no. Quite happy for you to help them and details of your visits to the venue and catch reports can be posted on the catch report forum.
  12. Have you thought of hiring a small box trailer???? Works out cheaper and a number of our groups use them
  13. How many sleeps now? Looks like you are hitting the good weather too!
  14. Have you pm'd smufter....? He's looking for someone to go with although he has tentative plans on somewhere else... Worth a pm see if you can sort something
  15. Presumably youve checked their french registration details as there are no french contact details or address on their website?
  16. We have owned and successfully run a french fishery for the past 10 years and we have a barbed only rule. Our fish rarely sustain ANY mouth damage. Barbed hooks once in... stay put and do not move about tearing etc A barbless hook in a good size fish on the end of a novices rod would give me palpitations!
  17. Im sorry but I dont understand whose creating problems and who are forging their own way....
  18. My one tip is.... Take your thermals
  19. First thing I would do is to check whether the lake is French registered. The contact details are all in the UK. If you fish an illegal venue YOU are liable to be prosecuted (as well as the owners)
  20. I found this post, using the search facility, posted by Guy Holman this January... might answer your questions.... There really is an awful lot of public water available over in France and some really spectacular places to fish. Even some of the smaller rivers, like my local river Célé hold quality fish in some quite unexpected places and I'm not talking about where it enters the Lot, for those that know the area! The privately run lakes, offer a very good deal (for the most part) and have obvious appeal...but as said above there are literally hundreds of public waters in France that hold very respectable fish and some real biggies too, that get rarely fished for. Even if its often a needle in the haystack and sometimes a very big haystack (I fish a few waters in the 500 to 1500 hectares range), there are often lots of 30's and 40's too be had too. Here is a site with all the night fishing zones listed by department for 2012. Any of these zones will have some decent potential for the public water carp fisherman. Night Fishing Zones in France 2012 You can also get your French Fishing Licence online these days. Although the site is only in French for the moment. If fishing public waters, a valid licence is required, this is not the case on the private waters. Public water fishing is often more of a challenge, especially for those looking for wi fi hook ups, fridges and the creature comforts, but can be a great adventure....each to his own I guess. The situation with fish pilfering for private lakes has come to a head of late. Mainly down to a Kevin Nash interview in one of the carp mags here, where he admits responsibility for 200 carp being transferred from the Lot area to a (once but no longer his) lake in the Aveyron......by members of his team but without his knowledge.................................... Laws have been strengthened in recent years, so now it is illegal to, remove or transport a carp of over 60cm and use carp sacks at night. You have to place a light to mark your presence at night in most areas too and stick to authorised night fishing zones....... Hopefully this will have some impact, but I ain't holding my breath....its easy to understand the point of view of the French "carpistes" though...public fish being taken to stock private ponds, be they English or French owned, deprives the licence holder of some of the best fish in THEIR waterways, so they feel well ripped off....to put it mildly! If you do decide to try a bit of public fishing in France, may you have a very successful and enjoyable time...I sure do...always the latter in any case...lol! All the best Guy
  21. Just to clear up a couple of points... Catfish Pro hooks are NOT allowed and if youve ever seen a carp hooked on one then you will know why. Any size 2 carp hook will suffice.
  22. Have a good holiday & enjoy.........!
  23. 250 acres.... Cant find much info at all.... have seen posts like yours asking but no replies. Found this from a couple of years back stayed at this campsite a couple of years ago, done a few evenings on the main lake (think there is 2 or 3, ones a boating lake) had loads of small commons with the biggest we had being low double. great fun and they fight like they are on speed. take a couple of lightish rods and a load of groundbait and you should have a fair few in a couple of hours fishing. great campsite aswell loads to do. enjoy your holiday
  24. Is it the public lake in the Vendee????
