i am pretty sure the line do not go trough the lead core. The lead core is spliced and then connected to the line.

Havent used it myself either, however peaople uses it on sharp bottoms (shells and sharp rocks for example) and to get the line to follow the botton structure. However it is pretty important that the rig is made correct, since there is no chance for the carp to get rid of the leadcore if broken loose.

I take it that you use safety clip? If so, check that the rubber you use to cover the clip fits proper. And not too loose.

There is a female carp angler in sweden whoose name is Inger Nilsson. She wrote an article last year or the year before about alternative baits. During her "test" she caught carp on raspberries, mushrooms, candy and some more interesting stuff. She also happened to be my cooking-teacher a couple of years ago Her husband (or boyfriend, cant remember if they are married) is also a very good specimenhunter. His name is Kristian Nilsson.
