I use my teeth to strip back about two inches from the hook. Nice and supple, but with a relevantly stiff rest of the hooklength.

I just find a mono hair to be too stiff. Maybe it makes the bait appear unnatural? You just tie the hair to the hooklink as normal?

Have been usign mono for all my hairs, however I just don't like how stiff the hair is. Have tried braid, but I find it tangles too easily. I take it coated braid would give me the best of both worlds?

Thanks for the replies. I think what I shall do is fish one rod straight out, and also have my other rod close in the margins with slack line. Both with running rigs. Only had one carp so far this year, so open to critique.

Just thinking how to avoid tangles.

Not sure whether to have a two pairs of bank sticks for my rods, or go with a buzz bar and have them sitting side by side. Any advice?
