That's decent value from my experience, I'm from chorley. I just looked up fir tree and it says it's a match venue and one of the rules is no specimen carp fishing methods. Can't see any mention of sturgeon either, have I looked up the wrong place? Appley bridge down the road from beacon view?

Am I right in saying fan lodge is Wigan AA licence?

Gutted about the sturgeon removal, it's something that always made me find the place interesting when I used to fish years ago. Is there anywhere else in the northwest with sturgeon? I use ledgering bolt rigs on a rod pod, can't remember the model but I've got decent fox carp rods. My PB carp is 17.5lb and I'd love to get the fishing bug again by catching a few doubles or fishing a venue with a decent chance of a new PB.

Hi all, Just wondered if anyone has fished this place recently or could tell me more about it. I've just got back into fishing after an 8 year break and fancy going for something a bit bigger. How big do the carp go in here and are there still sturgeon in there? I heard a rumour years ago they were getting removed. Thanks Paul

Anyone got any updates on how the place is fishing lately, personal reports etc? I've booked on Mill lake for next week and will be getting as much info as possible off the owners when I arrive but it's always nice to hear angler's personal reports.

hey thought i would let u know....i went to the venue i was talking about on monday and fished the margins wiv two rods...i kept it all simple...jus a plain combi anti eject rig with a single boilie ...tutti fruity i think...and i had runs, knocks and beeps all day! and i managed to hook into seven of them! ...6lb, 6lb 4oz, 6lb 12oz, 7lb 8oz, 8lb, 11lb 8oz and 14lb for a total of 60lb!!! i arrived at 8 in the mornin and set up for about 9 and packed up at about 5:15!!!...better than most peoples 9 to 5 weekdays lol!! and it poured it down with rain almost all day so i think i got wat i deserved with all those fish!! and the 14lb fish was the second biggest ive ever caught so i was well chuffed! also i caught it at the same time as the 7lb 8oz fish! so had a double up lol!! go me!! ta for the advice though!!

hey can u suggest any rigs for fishing pressured day ticket waters with clay bottoms? ive not done too bad with combi rigs but i tried a pop up once and had nothing on it all day and i like the idea of using a pop up lol ive recently made up some drop down rigs...fox guide to carp rigs book suggested they were the best for day ticket waters...any suggestions or comments welcome ta paul
