iand
have any of you tryed side hooking baits for wary carp? Nope When you say side hooking for wary carp how do you know how the rig is going to land. It may land with the side where you've buried the hook showing with the eye and shank of the hook right out in front
neilscatchin
have any of you tryed side hooking baits for wary carp? Yes and it works.Have side hooked "bait" on a modified "new" rig for extremely wary carp and they've been nailed everytime.Hookbait looked way too obvious but I was somewhat taken aback by the response

mick1396
It`s another one from the past again, with the old baits being used again, the long hairs and now side hooking,we`ve practically come full circle.

pcarr
what "bait" have you been side hooking then?
mick1396
I haven`t but it`s a way they used to hook boillies back then so that the hook point wouldn`t get masked, the idea was the bait would come off on the strike.
pcarr
can you elaborate?
mick1396
What you do is hook the bait directly on the hook, but do it so that the hook goes thru the bait closer to the side than the center, that`s all there is to it.
