remyvankreij
Hi everyone, I recently moved to Tonbridge in Kent, and i was wondering if anybody know some good carp fisheries in the aria. I do not mind driving 40 miles or so. Hope to get some good tips. Thanks, Remy
chunkiesgreat
you can try the tonbridge angling club who own a couple of waters with some decent size fish in. or there are other clubs in the area for a bit of varity. but there also some day ticket waters around that might do you, elphics nr horsemonden being one. or hawkhurst. just google them for there locations
remyvankreij
Hi Thanks for your reply, Have you heard of Monk Lakes? I did phoen him and they said you need to que up before it is open at 7.00am? I don;t know if it is a good lake, but also are people really queing up to get on it? chunkiesgreat
Well it depends on what you like really. I doubt that you would have to que up this time of the year but during the summer months and bank holidays then yes you would i have seen it very busy around those times. Its not my kind of fishing experiance being very commercial and a bit of a runs water but its up to you. I would suggest you try for yourself and see what you think of it. You may like it. Then you can make your own mind up. But remember there are other day ticket waters out there. The alternative is that you call the EA and ask for one of the places to fish in Kent books or there might be a page on their website but there are some free river sections as well around the tonbridge and maidstone area that are very nice. hope this helps
remyvankreij
Thanks for all that. I might be very stupid but what is EA? Sorry I am from Holland hahaha

mfoley
Tonbridge=elpicks. even though its a day ticket water there are good lakes there.... the specimen lakes are not really produtive over a 12 hour day but then again last trip on the plantation was there 2 days and caught 1 and a bloke opposite, turned up, hadnt even got his 2nd rod out and caught a 24lb common so you never know. the prairie is a runs water but they go up to 22-25 max but I have doubles out .all day 10 fish minimum kettles is more runs than praire but smaller fish..... average 5lb depends what sort of fish your after. they offer them in all size's really Who thinks they should let me fish for free due to my promoting of them all over this site!!!!! davo111
Hi Remmy. A place called Orchard Place Farm near you. Not everyones cup of tea as the lakes are pretty small but swome nice fish to be had.
danm1
I wouldn't fish Monk Lakes if they paid me a princely sum to fish it. The carping world is your oyster in Kent - some great club waters and syndicates - wouldn't even bother with day ticket bilge.
madv1988
danm1, why wouldn't you fish monk lakes if they paid you?

danm1
danm1, why wouldn't you fish monk lakes if they paid you? Not my cup of tea - an out and out commercial venue in a county that has tonnes of pukka waters, which, in my mind, offer much better value for money. Each to their own though.
