what do u use free line ,old bubble float,or the surface float mine the free line like to see the line tighten up

prefer to freeline but if a bit of distance is needed then fox bubble floats.

I also prefer to freeline but use the clear loaded drennan controllers if I need to get extra distance:)

freelining is great, but for the axtra distance i use the drennan controllers too.

Don't do much surface fishing myself, but I like the look of the TF Gear Surface Missiles:

I prefer to Freeline myself, although I do have a couple of the Drennan Controllers if needed.

 

I do also attach a PVA Bag of Surface baits to the hook when I need extra distance. Just use a different colour mixer/biscuit on the hook and you can see it against the rest.
