rxc Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Hi all, I find the issue for the requirements of the proper documentation when fishing municipal or commune lakes in France is somewhat confusing. I fish non private lake such as village lakes or the large lakes that have boating and bathing areas. In the past I have bought a rod licence (permit du peche). I now find that a day permit (carde du peche) is all that is needed for municipal or commune lakes. Rod licence is only required for rivers and lakes owned by the water companies? I find this confusing and cannot get the tourist office of the Haute Vienne or angling clubs or local mayors office to give me an answer. If I have to buy both, then fine. But having to pay 80 euros for an annual licence or 32 euros for a 15 day hoilday licence could be money put to better use if a day permit is all that is needed. If I wanted to fish a dam or river then I would only expect to buy a licence for this reason, and not a permit. Thanks for reading my concern and look forward to hearing from you soon. rxc Quote
