revtims Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 hi all im moving to penarth south wales in a few weeks, wouldnt mind knowing of any decent runs waters over there thanks. Quote
bluebirdjones Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Hendre Lake, St Mellons, Cardiff is probably the best runs water in South Wales. 6 acres, Carp up to mid 20's, average size about 10-12lb mainly commons. Tickets are £6 per day, £30 day syndicate, £60 night syndicate most of the action comes at night so its well worth going on the night syndicate. If you have any more questions just ask. Others in the area are: Duffryn Springs, Cardiff http://www.dyffrynsprings.co.uk/home/index.html Cefn Mably, Newport http://www.cefnmablylakes.co.uk/ Peterstone Coarse Fisheries, Newport http://www.freewebs.com/peterstonefishery/index.htm Hazel Court Ponds, Cowbridge http://www.hazelcourtponds.co.uk/ This link shows what I caught from Hendre Lake from May - November 2008 https://forum.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=34825&start=0 Quote
revtims Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 cheers for that i gave duffryn a go bout five years ago, plagued by tench! but had a upper teens grassie, iv been told about a place called severn oaks somewere near cardiff have you been there? Quote
bluebirdjones Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Here is the website. http://www.sevenoaksfishfarm.co.uk/ I've been there twice but not for about 2 years, its quite small and has far too many pegs on the coarse lake, its more suited to pleasure anglers or novices to carp fishing. I don't think the carp go much bigger than mid doubles and are mostly singles. I've tried most of the venues around South Wales and Hendre wins easily. Quote
revtims Posted February 10, 2009 Author Report Posted February 10, 2009 thanks, seven oakes does look a bit on the small side!!! might give it a go just to put a bend in the rods, deffo giving hendre a bash when i get there, you have had a few good sessions there! well done. Quote
