welder Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Dave, I have absolutely no idea where this canal is but I'd suggest that you visit the tackle shop nearest to the water and ask if they know who holds the fishing rights. Try a Google search, first? Ian Quote
crappercarper Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 does anyone else fish it? if so then politley ask them. Quote
homersimpson Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 From my experience I work on the theory, as long as im not on private property and theres no signs telling me not to fish then its probably fair game. All the club stretches of water in my area are well signposted and those that are not are either free or ticket on the bank if the bailiff comes Quote
phi77 Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 email the waterways they will tell you who as control of the water but as like most canals, clubs have give up the lease and fish it for free cos the waterways can not control the fishing as they do not have the bailiffs to walk it, they are more intrested in unlicened boats. dave_2133 Posted December 10, 2008 Author Report Posted December 10, 2008 hi mate im from the area dont know whos got that stretch im thinking about trying canals for carp myself, let me know how you gone on have you seen carp in this stretch Hi yeah there have been carp to low doubles out of the stratch but its mainly carp upto 9lb which are good sport and match gear. There are a few matchmen that fish it so i'll see if they will tell me anything about the ticket. The local tackle shop(Taylors) that sold the tickets has now closed so i need to find out who now sells the tickets now. Quote
