Debris solutions.

Wondered if anybody has rig ideas/advice for margin fishing over debris. The swims I'm fishing are under/around trees so bottom littered with dead leaves etc. Currently using a boilie popped up with fake corn. hooked masked with foam encased with PVA tape. Still getting occasioal debris on hook on retreive. Fished with,an essential, slack line.

Does anybody know of a surefire (or almost) rig that would eradicate this problem

It may be a case of your hook is picking up rubbish on the retrieve, but it may just be a case of the hook is picking it up on the cast or as it settles.

If you can fish with a pop-up your hook may be kept clear of the bottom. You can choose the height you have it popped up off the bottom away from the debris.

Even a Snowman rig may help if you have both baits set maybe a couple of centimetres or so above the lakebed.

I've been playing with a rig that keeps my hookpoint clear of the bottom, basically it involves a pop up (or half) above the hook bend and a separate hair with a bottom bait (https://forum.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=37231)

From reading your post I would say you have solved the problem yourself ,you are almost certainly just picking some debris up on the retrieve which is nothing to worry about ,over bottom debris i tend to fish a longer hooklenght around 12" with a criticaly balanced bait and plenty of foam so as it almosts "parachutes down"
