lee815 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 Hi all, ive done a search but couldnt find anything. After reading a number of posts on braid ive gone & bought some Kryston Mantis dark. one thing i would like to know although it might sound stupid to some people & please remember im new to fishing. Is it always best to remove the coating when tying a knot on the swivel or forming a loop. Thanks Lee Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 Lee, do what you want. I personally feel that I get a better tighter knot by stripping the coating back but that said, you can buy hooklinks already made that have the coating intact throughout. One thing I do though, if leaving the coating on, pull it tight over a steaming kettle so it softens the coating & beds itself in. Quote
tmb1415 Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 i use mantis and tye both rigs , horses for courses, both are right in certain situations Quote
