tomdavpedley
hi, i was wondering what leaders are used for are they just a different type of way to sink your line other than tubing?
Guest Anonymous
Leadcore leaders are used to sink the line near your presentation so the fish dont spook as much so year a bit like tubing!
tomdavpedley
what about shock leaders and clear leaders??
Guest Anonymous
Shockleaders take the pressure of a heavy cast so that your normal mainline will not snap due to the fact its still on your spool at the cast. ie 40 shockleader to 10lb line, the 10lb would snap on its own but the few feet of 40lb takes the initial impact. Clear and fluro leaders are just to disguise your line from the fish.

Guest Anonymous
pure flurocarbon should sink but it depends on the leaders that you use.
wrxrich
I found some shockleaders float ( quicksilver for one) Ive gone full circle now using tubing agian till I get sick of threading the line throught it I don't think it makes a huge difference as long as it matches the lake bed
