colors
hi, im off to france in a month or so it will be my first trip fishing abroad and im going to moulin de mee i think thats how its spelt. i was just hoping someone could give me some pointers regarding baits over in france? when i fish in the uk most places are that overfished it tends to be single hookbaits or small pva bags as there is that much bait going in. what kind of tactics would people recommend in france? lots of pellets? particles? spodding? or similar to uk? also regarding hookbaits is there a trend over in france as to what works better i.e. boilies? maize? bottom baits? pop ups? fish flavoured baits fruit etc etc? any advice would be great as i dont want to get there and not brought the right bait. cheers ste
Guest fenboy
I retuned from moulin du mee in eary april and had a great time ,a lovely lake and very friendly and helpful owners also if you had the food package your in for a real treat. The weather was and still is very changable at the moment ,the normal tactics there are to fish over large beds of pellet and maize, however this just did not work while i was there ,But im quite sure this will be the way to go once the weather is a little warmer and more settled. I had most of my fish just fishing small bags of the pellets supplied by jim the owner with a single pineapple pop up ,i just cast these around rather than fishing any particular spot,as i felt that the fish were just moving around taking the odd mouthful here and there. There is no need to complicate rigs or fish tight to fetures etc. Hopefully the weather will have improved by your visit in which case i would recommend you take jims advice and to use the big beds of pellet/maize etc both can be provided by Jim a a very reasonable price ,He also supplies a top quality boilie as the exchange rate is poor they are not the cheapest at around £11 kg but they are a regular part of the carps diet and readily taken ,I used the monster crab /robin red version , i would recommend you use these rather than save a few quid taking your own . Im sure you will have as good as time as i did my brother and me had almost 70 fish to 36.14 they are all stunners too ,hope that helps and good luck.
