jackp_y2k8
im the lad who caught face at 52"4 as willi said on page 1, the only advice i can give you is listen to andy the owner, do not take your own particle because you'll need a seperate tranny van to take it all. (you use that much) and secondly dont take your own because what you buy from andy is what the fish get most of the year they must eat 20t tonne of the stuff so if you put ur own gold blend in there gunna think its suspicious. another thin is plastic corn or 10mm plastic pop ups dont need loads just 1 pack and fish a single hookbait over your particle and they will be throwing themselves at you. obviously you will need a marker rod but you definately dont need a spod rod because you boat your bait out in a little rowing boat. other then that is plenty of money because bernie's full englsih breakfasts in the morning are good then agen all her meals were!. thats my adivce to ya fella and good look when ya go  jack  [edited to remove swearing.]

bertycbr900rrx
HAY UP PALL ,diddent get to meet up with you on the sat morning how did you find the weed ?? i was on peg 10 week before you ,,hell hole ,,,weed weed weed ,,
shanef
peg 12 had clear patches, i could still see the bottom (with a home made viewing bucket) which Andy nicked when we packed up!!!! Â other guys were having a weed nightmare, cant wait for next year after weed has been treated, sadly swim 12 will be no more, as they are removing it but adding a new swim next to the woods, so you can still get to the peg 12 areas and it opens up the great features that are just to far away from 12 at the mo, may 09 too far away
david1951
WEED WEED WEED WEED WEED ................OW MY GOD korda underwater are going on next year to film underwater 7 Â Danny will be here and the weed will disappear, shame it takes the carrot of having a Korda dvd filmed at the lake for corrective action to be taken, the rats will probably have gone by then as well. My mates were there earlier this year and unfortunately (as the info is 2nd hand....even though I have known them for years), it is not for me to publish what they thought!! Sounds like it would have been a great dvd to be filmed in thick weed, something for Korda to waste their money on, there again the cost of their goods would be adjusted accordingly!!! Thought they would have been far too busy with their own new venue in France, what was the name again Gigantica or something similar???? Commercialism, have to say I hate it!!! shanef
yep Andy is planning to deal with the weed early next year BEFORE IT GROWS, it is near impossible to tackle weed after it has started, but to prevent it growing next year is the way to deal with it  i fished swim 12 and i could see plenty of clearings, indeed we stayed an extra day and when the lake was empty (apart from us) i took the liberty of having a row around and taking a look, and i have to say i found clearings EVERYWHERE, any not too far out from the bank  i hooked 5 fish and landed them all, i used the rig marole clips (i got tonnes on ebay cheap as i knew i would need them) i coated 45 old leads with araldite and sand, and only lost the 5 i hooked fish with, i used the rig marole freefall tubing and this stopped the lead clips slipping.   i am going back in may, after korda have finished, i cannot wait, all i will change from the trips this year????? a MK2 viewing bucket
shanef
also i did ask Andy and Bernie why they did not advertise in the magazines....................  the answer  WHY?  i have yet to find a lake as clear, with massive fish you can see from the boat, see the clear spots, check them the next day to see if the bait is still there or if you have been done!  they simply do not need to advertise, they have plenty of returning customers and are busy all season  in fact i would like to know who asked who sky lake-korda or korda-sky lakes  my money is def on the latter  to film part 7 with MASSIVE French fish in clear water!!!! i cannot wait  i may even go there, even though its closed during filming just to see if any gardening needs doing!!!!!!!!!  Rob feel free is text me................i will work for food  i also said to Andy, that when Korda are finished he should try to keep the camera equipment in place or invest in some for the lake, and have a HUGE LCD screen on the wall in the club house with a live feed so we can all watch it while we eat and chat etc, they can indentify thier regulars and "unknown" fish and of course to spot the "baby whale" that make T look small  but then again, the down side is Bernie will have peeps on her "house" all day
sambaker
Hi, Â i have been to sky lakes twice, once on a holiday and once on work experience. i learnt many things about the water whilst there on both occasions. i found that most of the fish came out on artificial baits e.g sweet corn and maggots. although you can be successful with boilies, an article by Dave Lane showed him using loads of boilies and succeeding in catching. the lake bed is pretty weedy, but there are loads of features to find, so a marker rod is essential! depending on the draw, try and get the woods or the big double around the side i forget what its called! that where most the fish came out of when i was there both times. hope this is helpful in some way. good luck. tight lines Sam

petethefush
Not sure what all the fuss is about with the weed, we went last October and it wasnt as clear as it had been, but weed wise I thought it was perfect. There are LOADS of clear areas out there. Just need to get out in the boat and have a look. Â If you dont fish gravel pits or your waters dont have any weed then maybe it might seem weedy but really, if you wanna see weedy, I'll show you weedy! I hope Andy doesnt kill it all, it would really change it for the worse in my view. Â Great place though, going back in August for some hopefully warmer weather. Cant wait to see those big lumps in the water....
