River fishing (France)

Good afternoon all.
 

I am going to France next may and was wondering if anyone could recommend some good river fishing spots (for carp of course) ?

 

I am based near Ruffec so about 45 mins west of Limoges. I understand it’s a big country but somewhere within an 60-90 mins would be perfect. TIA.

Hi, There are some big lumps in the Vienne near "Lussac les Chateaux" although how it will fish I'm not sure due to the flooding we've had over the last month
