EW Story Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 While looking around online at carp rods I've seen quite a few telescoping rods. Has anyone tried them? Pros? Cons? Quote
bluelabel Posted January 15, 2020 Report Posted January 15, 2020 I have a pair of Nash Dwarfs, 9' 2.75lb's the butt section and middle telescope... never had a problem with them... previously I had a pair of Dam 12' 2.5lb full telescopics... cracking rods they were... had them for about 14 years... never a problem Quote
EW Story Posted January 15, 2020 Author Report Posted January 15, 2020 Thanks! I was hoping to hear some positive feedback. rods like these would be easier to transport. Quote
carpepecheur Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 Hi and welcome EW. I thought you might get more response to your query. I use conventional and telescopic rods. The latter have improved in quality over the years but seem more popular on the continent. My only complaint is that they can twist in use so the eyes are not aligned but if they are used intelligently this is a trivial problem. There is a third option and that is the traveller style rod. Here is a link to an example. It all packs down to just under 1 metre . traveller style rod Quote
