esox_ace
I Have stayed there a few times havent had much out to be honest, A few carp to mid doubles on the little "specimen" lake. Mind you the father in-law had a 3lb 1oz roach out of that lake back in 2008
diamondladygeezer
Hi, fished the small specimen lake (Springfield) regularly up until a couple of years ago. I great fishing and has some fish in high 20's in it. I would go back tomorrow but for work commitments. The margins fish well on the far bank where it is a bit queter, also the opposite end to the gate has a couple of feeding holes in open water and a mussle bed. If you fish to the island you need to be very tight as the bank drops off quickly on either side but had a gradual silty drop off at either end. (This should make sense when you see the lake) My favourite and most successful bait for Springfield lake is Solar Clubmix. Only drawback is if you have to go in the school holidays if gets really busy best to book out of season. Hope this helps, and you catch loads, well worth a visit.
