honsec Posted February 16, 2012 Report Share Posted February 16, 2012 Two years ago ABAC decided to have a go at this syndicate water. The club had a couple of venues with large carp and several specimen hunters amongst our club members. This was not undertaken lightly and the committee needing convincing that this was best use of club funds if the syndicate could not be self funding, specially with all the bad press the venue had recived on many forums. We have run the venue and about broken even, purely down to two of our committee who have worked hard and speant many hours at this venue and lots of their own cash to keep the lakeside clean and free from litter. Those that have fished it and the owners will surely appreciate what ABAC have done. IT IS A PITY THAT MORE OF THE CARP GUYS FROM WITHIN OUR CLUB DID NOT SUPPORT OUR VENTURE AND JOIN THE SYNDICATE, MAYBE WE WOULD NOT NEED TO GIVE IT UP. THIS IS PURELY DUE TO FINANCES, WE BELIEVE THE SYNDICATE WILL LOOSE MEMBERS THIS COMING SEASON AND THE CLUB IS NOT PREPARED TO RISK FUNDS ON A MINORITY SECTION OF OUR LARGE MEMBERSHIP. IT IS A SHAME AS IT IS A NICE VENUE, THERE ARE SOME CRACKING FISH IN THERE AND IN TIME WOULD ONLY IMPROVE. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
