Hi Tom Its on the A443 to Worcester on the right hand side just past Top Barn Farm. Its not the pools next to Holt fleet bridge. Started my carp fishing there back in 1981 and this is where some bloke showed me the hair rig. I could not believe that I would catch with the bait not on the hook. As they say the rest is history. There was only a few of us that seriously fished for the carp back then. I used richworth tuty fruity and then hammered the place on chick peas. The then owner banned boilies and put the price up to £6 per rod. We only used to pay £6 a day so a lot of us moved on. There was some nice fish but they did have some problems and lost fish but that was over ten years ago.

Unfortunately ABAC will not be continuing with the lease of Evesham Vale lake as of 31st March 2012. Anybody out there fancy taking it on as I know there will be some disappointed lads who have enjoyed fishing the water

I used to fish it in the early 80s. It was a great venue until the owner, I think now deceased, doubled the price of the ticket and banned boilies . There were some nice fish but I also think they lost a some although a few years back now.

Looks good but I just do not get the 'Between March and September, two (2) rods only are allowed' when only 4 can fish on this size of water unless of course its a manic runs water.

Fished it a few years ago for 3 nights with my mate. We thought it was a hell hole. To many fishing, crossing lines together with many arguments . Nice toilets , showers and shop was the plus points but never went back .

Does anyone out there know anything about the lake and pools in and around Shrawly wood in Worcestershire. I seem to remember someone saying it was a syndicate.

The problem I find with the Midlands is that it is obsessed with pole fishing . Most of the venues are set up for match fishing. They all seem to have some kind of bait ban such as ‘NO BOILIES’ and ‘NO NIGHT FISHING’. There are some decent waters about but you have to be prepared to fish with restrictions and pay for multiple rods. I have been, and are still looking for a quality carp water in the Worcestershire /Warwickshire areas, syndicate or day ticket, so if anyone has any ideas please tip me off .
