stev1962 Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Hi I went to bills lake last year we found them nice enough but you could tell that if there was to be a problem they could "TURN" our lake was number four hired for our sole use. Bill did advise us on arrival that it was full of poisson chat and yes it was!! And not much else! I think that they really need to re-assess their operation as a lot of serious anglers are now giving it a miss and that would be my advice too. I am going to lake Heritage next week of which I have heard good reports so here's hoping Steve. Quote

caspa1705 Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 Went to Bills lake1 for the 1st time in May this year and found it spot on. Really nice mature lake with really good facilities. Had some good fish to 49lb & would recommend the lake to anyone. Its a shame you didnt have a good time on 3. I do agree that there are cheaper options out there but have to disagree on your comment about Bill & Ruth as i found them very kind & helpful. Quote
bloatyman Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 I have fished Bills Lake One and Three on at least five occasions in the last four years. Yes lake three is weedy but there are boats which you can go out in find clear areas posion your rigs and drop bait onto them and if you get a run and the fish gets weeded up you can use the to go out and land your fish. so I cant understand why you needed to clear weed from you swim. The fish are in mint condition, I have had them to forty pounds plus As for Bill and Ruth being rude I find this hard to believe as I find them really helpfull as they want you to have a good trip, a lot of their business is repeat business so they must be doing something right. I think you have to get your head round lake three, if youre used to weedy waters then its no problem if not then get on lake one there is hardly any weed at all in there. Quote
cattin Posted October 4, 2016 Report Posted October 4, 2016 We got back from Bills Lake France this year, when we got there he told us not to talk to the people leaving the lake and to stand away from them, we ordered some particles and boilies before we got there, the boilies where shelf life and the particles had a mould forming on the top when opened for the first time, i found Bill fine and Helpful, his wife very nice and food excellent, 9 of us fished the lake with 3 people actually catching 6 carp between them, the rest never got any run or bites, not even liners, one of the fish had white eyes, and when asked about any deaths he said he let it slip he lost loads in the floods. great looking lake and food excellent but to pay over £500 each for a low stocked lake and food is a lot, has anyone else got any views info?
