Clavering lakes or others near

Do any o you guys fish here as have read some bad things about it but looked ok when I had a walk around it in spring. im looking for a good Carp water near Haverhill (CB9) as where I fish shuts for the shooting season

you could head north and get a Cambridge FPAS ticket

clavering is ok i think lots of stories of huge fish that never ever seem to make an apperance on the bank but i am sure you will get a bend in the rod their! i personally haven't fished their for years but have chatted about the place in the pub and seems it does attract a few noddy's.

Clavering is full of small stuff you will be luck if you get a double and at £25 a night is a joke.

Fished there a couple of times last year while teaching a mate from Safrom Waldon to fish. Don't think there's anything massive, even in the speci lake, but last time I went I had six off the top upto about 12lbs.

 

The whole place looks a little too artificial for my taste, but it was ok.
