The lake has been dug out and silt removed, the island has been built, the streams have been cleared, the stock pond has been dug, new grills have been put in place and the dam wall has been protected. Guest planchon Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Etang de Planchon - Lake development Progress Update This week saw the replacement of the monk which was a requirement from the fishing authorities due to the introduction of pike to the lake. The Old Monk The new monk was installed this week and now that it has been the fishing authorities will be visiting the lake late next week and all their requirements will be checked. The New Monk Everything has been done to their specifications and after their visit it will be a case of applying for a date to fill the lake back up (provisional date of mid October). The new design and size makes lake water level control more accessible and it can be controlled easier. Everything is all on track for the lake opening in March 2011 and spaces are still available for 2011 so book now if you are interested. For more information and updates check out the website. A huge achievement – the French fishing authority (DDA) has given the rubber stamp. All the requirements have been met. The lake will be re-filled from 1st October. Guest planchon Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Etang de Planchon – Progress update on swims Work on the swims at Etang de Planchon is well under way, 5 of the 6 swims have been levelled out and have had the wooden surround erected, once complete all swims will have a bark base. There are 6 spacious swims available, 5 swims maximum will be used at any one time, 2 of which have been designed to be double swims. All carp stocked, except 1, were over 22lb, the carp below was a little under the weight specified but I could not pass up this lovely linear.
