Booked a week at kingsmead after researching on net,we wanted a quiet venue,this place had 4 statics and camping facilities.2 pools one said to have carp over 30 pounds,so we were really looking forwards to a week of great fishing.the site was great bluebell woods wildlife etc.unfortunatly the Valley lake (said to hold bigger carp)was unreachable by car and was down a very steep hill covered in shingle,ok going down but coming back up with tackle etc a nightmare.3days and only 1, 3pound carp a few perch! and i had had enough.ok so its a funny time of year spawning but we never saw any signs of fish splashing about.the owner stated there were fish in the lake but we wernt prepared to waste any more time trying to catch em.Bored and very disapointed we came home.spent the rest of whe week at our syndicate pools and caught every day.including a 20pound mirror for me and a 3foot 18 pound grass carp for my hubby.so if your thinking of a fishing holiday i sugest you go by word of mouth!. going to try sept for a week away any sugestions??...
