Booked a week at kingsmead after researching on net,we wanted a quiet venue,this place had 4 statics and camping facilities.2 pools one said to have carp over 30 pounds,so we were really looking forwards to a week of great fishing.the site was great bluebell woods wildlife etc.unfortunatly the Valley lake (said to hold bigger carp)was unreachable by car and was down a very steep hill covered in shingle,ok going down but coming back up with tackle etc a nightmare.3days and only 1, 3pound carp a few perch! and i had had enough.ok so its a funny time of year spawning but we never saw any signs of fish splashing about.the owner stated there were fish in the lake but we wernt prepared to waste any more time trying to catch em.Bored and very disapointed we came home.spent the rest of whe week at our syndicate pools and caught every day.including a 20pound mirror for me and a 3foot 18 pound grass carp for my hubby.so if your thinking of a fishing holiday i sugest you go by word of mouth!. going to try sept for a week away any sugestions??...

just letting you know hollyhurst is a fairly new fishery only opened bout 2 years,it takes a few years to establish and fish to settle so give it a go,its very open no cover so you will need a shelter.i had most carp with luncheon meat but boilies are good.

i was a regular fishing 2 to 3 times a week,never night fished tho, i like my home comforts it did fish well at night

i fished hollyhurst loads last year but it seemed to die off i dry netted too many times altho i did have the 33 pounder twice havent seen much action there lately.

i was thinking of getting a season ticket..is it worth it? does anyone know of ticket pools close coventry wolvey area?

well after blanking on my last 3 visits i thought time to change tactics,i usually fish the margins (33 pounder came from) anyway fished today with the method feeder and a bait recipe with (few additions) had great time.9 carp biggest lovely mirror 20pound 18 common and the rest doubles.1st august weathers dire but great fishing.

i am the the very female who caught the 33 twice in 48 hours!..2 different pegs
