years ago before boilies did they not use par boiled potatoes ? anyone tried them ?

Last year, I was fishing with a mate and we were having a great day, a bite a chuck.

 

He then says to me, I bet I could catch one on a snotter, has a dig around up his nose, puts this lump of snot on the hook...............3 minutes later pulls out a 2lb roach !!!!

 

Couldn't fish for about half an hour for laughing so much !!

I used them white milk bottles u get in penny mix ups once as a pop up. A handful of rolled up bread balls n 1 of the bottles on the hair rig. Had 3 nice carp. Best thing is my mates take the mickey out of me to this day for doing that, but it worked. Think it's a similar flavour to scopex.
