carpfishingmayenne Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 Welcome to our customer reports for 2010, To see the latest reports please scroll down to the bottom page Name of customer: Tim & Gina Date of holiday: 19th to 22nd March 2010 No. of persons fishing: 2 Brief details of your catches: Caught over 150lb of fish in only 3 half day sessions with best of Mirror at 28.38lbs, as well as 24lb, 12lb, 13lb, 26.8lb, 27.5lb Sturgeon at 12.3lbs and a couple of Tench 3.2lb and 3.8lb. What did you find were the best tactics/baits? We only float fished and used boilie, pellet and corn, caught on all of them, ground baited with pellet and maize. Were the facilities what you expected? Yes – better than we hoped Were you happy with them? Very Would you recommend our venue to a friend? Just as soon as we get home! General comments: We came over for a short break treat for Tims birthday. Venue was better than we hoped for and food was brilliant, plenty of help and advice on fishing and just about everything else as well. Snowman rig using Mainline Grange and Dynamite Coconut cream pop ups, free offering was particle, pellet and a few boilies. Were the facilities what you expected? Better than we thought they would be, would like to have been here longer to use them fully, too busy fishing to use the Sky TV or X box and DVD’s Were you happy with them? Yes Would you recommend our venue to a friend? ? Definitely, great place to bring teenagers for the experience of big fish and the opportunity to spend time together without having to share with anyone else. General comments: Great because the whole lake was for us, so no problem with having swims allocated, move freely around lake as we wanted no hassle of choosing one peg for the stay. We had not very good weather, lot of rain and only one sunny day but still had a good time. The owners are friendly and very helpful and made us feel really welcome, hassle free holiday. 5*. Adrian: - 39 Carp over 5lb including 12 over 20lb, best of 25lb 6oz Common, also 2 Sturgeon and 5 Tench. Paul: - 41 Carp over 5lb including 7 over 20lb, & 1 over 30lb best of 31lb 10oz Common, also 1 Sturgeon and 3 Tench. Jon: - 15 Carp over 5lb including 4 over 20lb best of 33lb 1 oz Mirror. What did you find were the best tactics/baits? Feed pellets & Maize and fish boilies or Halibut pellets with fake corn/maize over the top. Margins very prolific – particularly using sweetcorn as bait. Were the facilities what you expected? Absolutely – comfortable and quiet. Very welcoming, loved the flexibility offered. Were you happy with them? Very! Difficult to fault the efforts made for us. Would you recommend our venue to a friend? Already have and definitely will whenever the chance arises. General comments: A fantastic week in stunning surroundings, good fishing even in the unfavourable conditions, great food and lovely people running the fishery. Massive thanks to John, Pat, Nikki & Marc for their support and willingness to meet our expectations - you exceeded them on all counts. We will be back!!. (Be good if you could remove some of the smaller Carp as they get to the bait quicker than the larger ones!!) Jon's PB 33.1lb mirror got him the bottle of Champagne for biggest fish of the week at La Petite Martiniere. I used 18MM Boilies from Marolles Baits sold on site BlueBerry and their Shrimp & Crayfish pellet and corn, caught on all of them, ground baited with pellet and maize. carpfishingmayenne Posted May 31, 2010 Author Report Posted May 31, 2010 Name of customer: Rik, Colin & Chris Date of holiday: 22nd - 29th May 2010 No. of persons fishing: 3 Brief details of your catches: The group banked over 800lbs of fish most of which were over 20lb the average of the net was 24lbs! •Rik: Only counted fish over 20lbs, with 2 over 30lbs with best of 36.7 and another 7 fish of 20+ also caught my first French Tench, around 234lb total •Colin: Included anything over a double, with 20 as a total including 4 over 30lbs best 36.7 and 12 over the 20lb mark, also 2 Tench and 57Pasties total weight without pasties around 497lb. •Chris: Had a best of 34.1lb with 5 over 20lb and a few doubles 2 Tench also caught the same Sturgeon 5 times! And around 11 pasties What did you find were the best tactics/baits? •Rik: Best to use a boat, enables you to find the feature and put down a decent bed of free feed along with your hookbait, Lake mix and cell boilies, The lake mix is a good price at 20 euros for 10kg •Colin (Le Pasty): Mr.Catch!! Essential to find the features and keep the line pinned down as the Carp spook off as soon as they feel a line. Plenty of lake mix particle / pellet and Cell boilies. •Chris: No best tactics as such for me, just loads of lake mix and cell boilies, used backleads all time. Were the facilities what you expected? No better, there excellent and the food was brilliant. Were you happy with them? Yes, more than happy Would you recommend our venue to a friend? Yes, definitely will do. The boys have rebooked for sept 2010 and may 2011 General comments: The weather at start of the week was unbelievable with temperatures well into the 30’s, sunburn! Although did cool off a bit later in week with a bit of rain. Fish were spawning on and off all week but didn’t stop us catching THE FISH OF THE WEEK The Nuttall boys both banked fish at 36.7lb this week so both hold the fish of the week title and got a bottle of Bubbly each well done lads LAKE TOTAL WEIGHT RECORD Colin The Daddy Nuttall set the lake total weight record at over 500lbs so a nice bottle of cider went to him Quote

General comments: More than a beautiful area, beautiful fish easy to catch on the daytime, we did not try it in the night. love this place and want to come back. (Rogier is first to catch and land a Pike from here) What did you find were the best tactics/baits? Find a clean spot and use a lot of pellet and big boilies, land deep. I’ll come over with some friends General comments: We really liked the place, the quietness and the endless hospitality of our hosts. The fishing was really good except for the loads of small fish but they kept me sharp for improvement. Jurgen banked 386lb 19 below 10lbs, 13 mid teens, 4 mid 20’s with best of 26.4 and 2 Tench just over the 4lb mark. Bo give the boys a run for their money and had 16 fish, totalling 213lbs, with 7 below 10lbs, 5 mid teens and 4 high 20’s with a best of 28.6. Total weight for the week and a new group record of 1136lbs!!! What did you find were the best tactics/baits? Best baits were Mainline Fusion boilies with Lake Pellet and Nutrabaits Trigga Ice boilies with Lake Pellet and 4Seasons Cranberry & Caviar with Lake Pellet. Were the facilities what you expected? More than expected, very nice cabin Were you happy with them? Yes Would you recommend our venue to a friend? We have already told our friends about the lake General comments: Maybe some more lights on the fishing spots. Maybe electricity on the fishing spots. The rest is perfect. Fishing the margins was the best and the best bait throughout the week was Cranberry & Caviar dumbbells Were the facilities what you expected? Yes Were you happy with them? Very Would you recommend our venue to a friend? Yes General comments: Food was awesome; hospitality of the owners was very good. Fishing was very slow but maybe that was just our week. The advice given by Marc & John was spot on and we were very grateful for the kit and extra bait given to us by Marc. Keiron got 68 fish With a new PB Carp at 30.2lb and a PB Sturgeon at 12.10lb also The Guys Lake Weight Record at 602lb Julia got 39 fish which included a PB Tench at 7.11lb, PB Sturgeon at 12lb and a PB Carp at 26lb also The Ladys Lake Record weight at 240.7lb What did you find were the best tactics/baits? Scopex Squid + Robin Red, Cell, 24mm shelf life boilies. Method mix with fake corn. Short hair rigs. Pellet and Lake mix a must. Were the facilities what you expected? No, they were much better! Has everything you could want and more, even an xbox with a selection of DVD’s, plus a mirror and English socket so I could straighten my hair. Were you happy with them? Definitely. Would you recommend our venue to a friend? Definitely. General comments: The sign over the cabin door says “Paradise Found” and it’s not wrong. carpfishingmayenne Posted September 8, 2010 Author Report Posted September 8, 2010 Name of customer: Wim Simons Date of holiday: 28th August - 4th September No. of persons fishing: 2 Brief details of your catches: We had about 100 to 120 fish with around 60 to 70 small fish, around 30 to 40 fish over 20lb including 28lb, 30lb, 36.5lb (two times) and 42lb (three times). Didn’t fish through the night and sometimes reeled the rod in that didn’t go off in the evening. Just some of Dereks fish Some of Wims fish What did you find were the best tactics/baits? Best tactics were fishing the silt instead of the gravel areas and fishing with only two or three cups of boilies over the spot. Best bait was Odyssey XXX from CC Moore baits. Were the facilities what you expected? The facilities are quite good, have seen a lot worse Were you happy with them? Yes, the only thing we could not find was something to clean the floor properly Would you recommend our venue to a friend? Yes if they want to catch a lot of fish and go with the wife General comments: Good quality fishery with only a bit too much small fish, and those pesky wasps ha ha !! Quote
carpfishingmayenne Posted September 17, 2010 Author Report Posted September 17, 2010 Name of customer: Jason, Wayne & Ryan Date of holiday: 7th - 11th September No. of persons fishing: 3 Brief details of your catches: The lads only recorded the larger fish (20 or over) Jason was top rod with around 18 fish the best of which was 37.5 Jason bettered all his PB’s having Commons and Mirrors over 30 (and his first Sturgeon), Wayne also landed some nice fish in the 30’s. Good fight from all fish, all of which were in good condition, some small Carp but lots of action. What did you find were the best tactics/baits? Cast and scatter boilies rather than bait boats. Fishmeal baits worked the best (from CCMoore) nothing from fruit based baits for Jason, Wayne got results with Mainline Cell. Bait boat did start producing with hemp. Were the facilities what you expected? Excellent Were you happy with them? Yes Would you recommend our venue to a friend? Yes General comments: We enjoyed our stay, good fishing with a super lodge.
