  1. Hi Guys I have two months free in September and October and have decided to dedicate them to Carp fishing. I'm only in my third year so would like to improve my fishing and sample new venues, meet new people and catch a few carp as well. I am based in the Irish Republic so will need to relocate for 2 months, my question is where ? I am looking to rent a caravan or similar and join a club which would give me access to multiple waters and allow night fishing. I'm 55 a single non smoker and don't need much to keep me happy, may even be a B&B long term, before I return to work as a merchant seaman. If anyone has any ideas on where I should try or has a caravan for a fellow Carper to rent I would appreciate any input. Thanks Gary
  2. Hi Gary, I was a member of the SCG until last year, have moved back to the soutth of England now but used to fish that area. Well, kind of, there isnt lots to choose from! The SCG have just lost my favorite water, Fintry. The hotel owners took the lease back. There is a water in Dunfermline, The Bricky. Looks pretty rough but there are some good fish in there. Its behind the SGM mower place next to the motorway. Go on the SCG forum, there are a few members fishing it. Just watch out for the Neds in the summer! Kinghorn is not too far, gets busy and you might have to fight for a swim, but there are some good fish. Danskine Loch is really nice. you need a key from Malky. The fish arent as big there as Kinghorn but I prefer it by far. Its a proper "carpy" water. Thanks for the info mate that helps a lot and is giving me the opportunity to have a look at these waters this week. Going to have a wander over to Danskine loch on sunday to recee it. Apreciate your advice gary
  3. Gone and got involved with lovely lady from Dunfermline, so now looking for waters nearby to do a few long sessions. Local carp knowledge is limited, I have joined the Scottish Carp Group but if anyone else has any experience of the area would appreciate any input. Gary
  4. Hi Lads Im going to be in Letchworth in Herts for the weekdays in August so would like to fish regularly (most days) I live here in Ireland so not a UK club member, but I have a current EA licence. Is there anywhere I can get a month permit ? Day tickets work out very costly as I plan on fishing 20 days or more. Gary
