  1. As said on a previous reply, why not just use some pva string or tape to tie the hair back to the shank?
  2. I am there also this weekend coming. Just for the Friday night. They have a forum which offers some advice. Have a good look on google earth and spot all the bars and plateaus. Weeks forecast is looking good too

    Leads

We're does everyone get there leads from, want them as cheap as possible. Thanks jamie
  4. Hi poacherno1, ill start with stubbs first. If you want a a night of 5lb-16lb carp stubbs is the place, personally it would be better going with the light feeder gear and having a good days fishing. There's sally walshes at back of the hemsworth water park. £20 for 24hrs got to book on first though. Also there is athersley pond which is £10 for £24. Pay on the bank. Sure there is loads of other places but there a couple i know which have a good stocking level of carp.
  5. When I tie th loop in the hair, I like it really small and find it easier to use the latched baiting needle to get it nice and small.
  6. I'll let everyone know how I get on with it. Who knows

    Pva bags

Which people's rig choice when fishing a pop up in a pva bag? Line choice, hook pattern, length?
  8. It's the juice left from Asda sliced beetroot.
  9. Has anyone tried beet root for a glug or dip, I'm off out for a 48hr on Friday so since mid week I used my beet root up and left the juice in the jar. I've been freezing and thawing the juice with about 5 or so boilies in. They have taken on the colour superb! Going have a an experiment on my session.
  10. I was just asking because I didn't know but now I do. I've used the rig a couple of times with a pop up just wondering if it could be used with a bottom bait.
  11. Can you use the stiff hinged rig with a bottom bait? Or is it mainly used for pop ups?
  12. The mugga has been my pattern of hook for the last year or so and have faith in using it now in all my sessions.
  13. Nathan, be careful mentioning the K word on the forum it winds a lot of people up! But agreed there are other companies who supply better end tackle!
  14. Ok, that's a good idea. Doesn't the knot ever snag on the guides when it goes through?
  15. Hi, are you using the Fluro as like a leader? Jamie
  16. Well I think so, seems to hook 99% of my fish. I imagine that once the hook has entred the mouth the bottom lip is acting as a ledge and with the point being so aggressive it would struggle to eject. As i I said before this is my suggestion but other people may think different.
  17. If you tie both hooks kk and kd you can see the difference straight away in the angle of the point and how the hook sits. It's everyone to there own and as long as it ends up in the net who cares how its tied
  18. I find it sits the point really aggressive on the long shank mugga hooks, I've tried it on a couple of other patterns too like the wide gapes. I turn down the hook 8-10 times then twice under the hair. I use all baits on it too either with or without a small shot.
  19. My friends off to this place in two weeks. He's wanting to know if anyone has fished it and any tips or pointers would be helpful. Jamie.
  20. I'm not sure about the swan but my mate had a 18lb 9oz mirror out last Saturday, did two nights had about 150lb out. The average size was about 6-10lb. Was rather suprised!
  21. Hi glen, do you fish there often?
  22. Hi davyman, either pit five or six, cheers =)
  23. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any info about the pits or who fishes them often. I've wrote on the forum but don't seem to get a reply. I'm going to be doing a 48hr session next month so trying to do abit of homework before hand. Any rig tips baiting tips would be appreciated. Jamie.
  24. What about Sally walshes? Ie Hoyle mill at back of hemsworth water park. Contains some good fish up to and over 30, big cat fish and general corse fish. It was home of the famous Sally 40lb mirror! It's framed in the Barnsley bait co shop in maplewell. Haha Stubbs hall! Your very true, John has lost the plot I think, last time I was there some idiots were jumping in! Rods in and left!
