    rig putty

Have you noticed that since they've done rig putty all the Korda chaps really rate "putting a massive blob of putty" on their hooklengths to "pull it down into the carps mouth". For me- Putty has always been about finesse and balance in a discrete way. If you want a massive blob- use a shot. yea thats probably why they all need 3.5lb tc rods
  5. i couldnt possibly say you would have more success but its just what i have confidence in,i just cant get my head round pop ups really i prefer to have something on the lake bed with my freebies, pop ups do have there place as hundreds of anglers will tell you but i guess its a case of each to there own,i think carp have trouble ejecting a snowman aswell
  6. may be worth sticking with the fluoro for now if your catching on it,
  7. what i meant was i rarely use a pop up on its own
  8. length really depends on the type of bottom you're fishing over mate,i normally go on the basis the softer the bottom the longer the link

    rig putty

kryston heavy metal for me tried the dark matter absolute pants
  10. personally i dont use pop ups much at all,and would definately not use them over gravel and probably not over silt as carp dont mind digging in up to there gills so they could miss a bait popped up,if i had to choose one rig for all situations it would be some form of snowman
  11. hello mate,i like to thread a piece of fake corn length ways on the hair then tie on a rig ring and tie a bunch of maggots to the ring, like this but i dont use a ring on the shank i prefer a piece of silicne further round the bend http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=pop+up+corn+and+maggot+rig&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1280&bih=663&tbm=isch&prmd=imvnsfd&tbnid=oxlgIn-bN4CKIM:&imgrefurl=http://www.hinders.co.uk/blog/%3Fcat%3D32&docid=mxmA9106VOQTMM&imgurl=http://www.hinders.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Luke-Maggot-Rig-350x237.jpg&w=350&h=237&ei=RqwhT9LrMYyDtQazp_X2Bw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=507&vpy=311&dur=178&hovh=185&hovw=273&tx=137&ty=78&sig=108504266464308702777&page=1&tbnh=143&tbnw=197&start=0&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:0

    rigs

its worth a try mate ive had good success using stick mixes,a solid pva bag is also a good approach,if your fishing the harder gravel spots i would keep rigs quite short about 3-4 inches.also the kd rig isnt great if theres to much weed because of the way it sits, hope this helps these are just things ive picked up in my own fishing im far from being an expert and im sure some lads would do it differant, just keep trying things till you find something that works and try to keep it simple

    rigs

hi 1carp kid like cobleyn said the hinged stiff link is very affective with pop ups but not the easiest rig to tye if your new to it,the kd rig is also an effective rig and very simple to tye just google it or have a look on the korda website, may i ask why your specically using pop ups,i assume your fishing hi attract singles
