Hi there i have a week off work at the end of april so fancy doing a few nights with my bro. Only thing is he likes to catch. He has never done a night yet and would like his first to be a good one. I live in midlands and dont mind travveling a few hours for a decent water with a few decent fish. Any ideas ?????

[Anyone using old style rigs?]

Last few times ive been fishing ive had 2 totally different rigs. 99% of the time ill use a bolt rig with a safety lead clip with rig tubing and a flouro hook link. Although ive tried one on my usuall rig and the other with just a swivel a lead and just a normal mono hooklink with no camo or anything fancy. Guess which rig produced the most fish??????? The old style rig that i used to use when i was like 10. Im not going too keep using this rig because i have a lot more confidence in my usuall rig but when im fishing a few inch off trees and keep loosing my end tackle ill switch till end of session then go and stock back up before the rods come back out lol.does anybody else fish a verry simple rig that produces nice fish?

I allways fish the top lake. I go over to the other side along the wall. There is a little gap in the willow tree on the island i allways chuck a rod out there and if there is nobody to ur right put one in corner ive had sum really good days up to island. I went once and spodded out first thing in the morning n had around 15 carp including 2 grass and lost a lot more than i landed. If u still fish here give me a pm n we can have a session together if u like?

Hey i fish shireoaks a lot. I used to fish the bottom lake but now fish the top in the summer first thing in morning and just before the sun sets get a zig on top with some bread. As soon as u see a fish put it on its head. Worked plenty of times for me. Also dont ignore the margins ive had my p.b from there not massive it was 19lb.12oz but more than welcome.i normally fish most weekends. If u like drop me a message next time your going n ill see if our lass will let me out lol. Tight lines
