  1. hello mate i went to Beaurepaire in france last year. first trip to france it was great 4 of us went. hired the whole lake, although it can take up to six, id say its a runs water top fishing coming out to me at 48.12lb also had a few cats out. 60 fish out for the week but was really hot, they have had 120 out in a week. a massive bonus was the owner was great did everything he could to help us i give this lake 5 stars and im going again in september, great lake for newbies too hope this helps see http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=50219&highlight=beaurepaire
  2. got back from Beaurepaire last week booked though angling lines who did everything possable to ensure a good trip. Four of us went and we had the lake to ourselfs upon arriving the owner informed us that the fishing hadnt been to good not really what you want to hear but we took it in our stride. all four of us fished on the split easer for the BBQ and we manged to cover the whole lake between us this way, so set up and headed out to the super market which took most of the day thanks to my amazingly poor sense of direction but got back eventuatly. so with the rods in the water night drawing in we got the beer out and lit the bbq. It didnt take long for the first fish about 11 o'clock the sweet sound of the alarm screeming off and heart beat going 10 to the dozen to make things better it was my rod the next 45 minutes were the longest of my life to say this fish beat me up would be an understatment there was no this was i carp and so in the net landed a 35lb catfish {first ever cat caught on 2 24mm halibut pellets} needless to say this gave us confidence that it would be a good week. After the catfish and driving all day i needed my bed so retreated to my biviy i got about 2 hours sleep untill my rod was off again and this time was a carp it put up a strong fight testing my ablity to get under and over rods but got it on the bank with only one wet foot after half sliping in {barefoot} and in the net was a 31lb mirror which was a new pb there were no more fish that night but needless to say confidence was high thoughout the week the tempreture was hot and pressure high, weather was really against us no one had a fish out in the day untill the friday when i had a 35lb mirror around 9am and a 22lb about 1pm on this day was the worst weather raining alday {just what you want day before you leave} other than those two all the fish caught came out between 11pm and 4am i caught a total of 7 fish which included 1x catfish 35lb and 6 mirrior carp 31lb, 30lb, 36lb, 35lb, 22lb and now my new PB 48.12lb my cousin had 6 carp to 38lb lowest 28lb and 2 baby catfish the other two got 1 koi and 1 cat between them. Beaurepaire is a great lake owner is really friendly the facilitys arent the ritz but they are good enough 1 shower 1 toilet 2hob burners microwave 2 fridges and chest freezer we had a great trip shame about the weather but for our first trip to france we thoughly enjoyed our selfs and would recomend the lake to anyone we fished with cell boilies i used dumbells, fished it over a partical chop boile mix and topped the bollie of with fake corn or maze, also used hailbut pellets 24mm on thhe hair surrounded by 8mm
  3. thats good news thanks for the quick reply
  4. i am due to go to france fishing last week in august and was wondering about customs and if there is (or any one has had any problems) any restrictions on bait or tackle as most people will have some sort of knife or sissors in there tackle boxes just didnt want to get accussed of trying to steal a ferry and would hate for them to throw all my bait away that would not be a good start to the trip any advise or info would be greatly appreciated.
  5. so im off to beaurepaire 20 of august for a week and require a box trailer for rent nothing longer than 3metres and idealy 750kg or less anyone know any good places to hire from dont want my pants pulling down i live in nottingham but will travel reasonable distances any help would be brillant.
  6. yeah from what ive been told by others i general fish boilies and corn (mainline cell) i would advise ringing up the night before you go after 8 when the gates are closed so you can get anidea of how many people are on the lake it can get quite busy.
  7. yeah the new owners have recently changed it to a minimum of 24hours i personal could stay there all year if i could aford it of course, it is a really well kept lake cell bolies work well i do no that particals are quite popular
  8. cromwell is a great venue there is alot of weed but this only adds to the challenge and there are clear spots to fish to a tricky water but the rewards can be brillaint only the other week was there with my cousin and he pulled out a beautiful 36lb mirror, chods and zigs are the way forward on this lake would recomend to some one looking for a challenge.
