  6. would be looking for help and advice on that choice happyhammer, have heard the tackle shop staff very friendly and helpfull, am looking at going around end of feb or beggining of march if any other yately virgins want to go with somone
  7. it looks good and to be honest would like to have a go, but is it worth the money, i know quite a few of you have fished this so is it worth the money or a little bit of hype, there is probably a few threads about yateley but looking at last year 2011 if you have comments, and if you are going to fish it in 2012
  8. very busy at weekends, not too bad during week say from monday to thursday, but the anglers start to turn up early on friday to get their best spots, however now its getting colder not as many will be there, and it does fish quite well during the winter
  9. think this would come from a area that is still a public footpath, but it is a small part of fishery, the rest is well bailifed and secure, that goes for carpark too, I have done a couple of nights and felt very secure, there is somone fishing every night somwhere on the fishery, and I have not had a problem with any of members in the three years I have been a member it has been the total opposite I can honestly say I have enjoyed my time there and would recommend it to others, if you become a member let me know and i will show you around
  10. Hi Mate, Farnham can be a bit of a clique, also some of their best waters are also day ticket so get used quite a lot, Portsmouth have some very beutifull lakes, sinha warren some big carp but hard to fish and needs time spent with lots of blanks but if you get a fish they are worth it, chichester has the best lakes in my oppinion, but as you are from brighton you would need to enquire about membership and be a day associate for a couple of years and not able to fish nights untill you become a full associate. Hope this helps Tony
  11. fraid the hants and sussex has gone few years ago now, think vinitrow is on the complex opposite, as the lakes are churchyard, quarry, whyick and long lake that belong to chichester club
  12. in my own oppinion mate they dont really compare, the cdas are really well looked after, bailiffed regular and the ones i have met and talked too really nice friendly people, on the other side it can feel intimidating but that is just me, some have said they enjoyed it there and there are some good fish, as always each of us is different and what one enjoys another may not, but in the years i have fished chichester i always have a possitive feeling from the place, and with thier lakes give you everything you could wish for
  13. great news recieved yesterday, i have been accepted as a full associate member for the chichester club, for those of you that dont know, if you live outside 12 miles then you have to apply to be first a day associate where cant fish nights then its like dead mans shoes to be a full associate, but after three years of being a good boy they have accepted me, so after the 16th june will be doing some nights, so if any members on forum are also members will be good to meet up with you
  14. joined club this year, any members out there, also renewed membership for chichester angling club also anyone out there joined either one

    zig

please forgive if been answered a hundred times. I only came over to fishing for carp a couple of years ago, but i have started to have a go at zig fishing, my cast aint too bad, but the question i have is. the lake i fish is about 6ft deep, would you start with a hooklength at 6 foot if nothing happens go down to five and so on, or would you start deep and work to the surface. plus i am not good at judging depth so if you can see the fish cruising but not breaking surface how long would you have your hooklength
  16. cheers phippers, yes those are sill there, plus they have a bit of the rivers itchen, avon and stour so will get some piking during the winter, thinks it will be more worthwhile to join eastleigh than portsmouth club, as i hardly used their waters last year, was at chichester most of the time, and as they are the same price i think it would be money better spent
  17. is anyone on the forum a member or has been a member of eastleigh and district angling club, if so how do you feel about the club, thinking of joining this year but not sure
