  1. from my experience of the Korda solid PVA bags, if I moisten the top and twist it round the rig to secure it I always seem to have a blob of it still on there when I reel in 5 hrs later. Never happens with any other bag I use but I now always use PVA stape or string to tie it now just to be safe. no problems at all and always alot stronger i think.
  2. hi Henry where abouts are down south are you? also are you looking for day ticket or a club to join?
  3. I used to go to Chichester as I lived over that way but moved back to southampton now so been at broadlands alot plus river farm in Funtley. Broadlands has been great this year but I am a little bored with it there as it gets so busy and also at £20 a pop just seems to make more sence to join a club again. (although i will still fish broadlands every now and then as it is a good lake) yer I noticed there are only a few lakes allowing night fishing...am abit worried it might get busy on those lakes...the chichester lakes used to get really busy during the summer which was abit of a pain but i guess all good lakes wil be popular wont they. have you thought about eastleigh and district at all?
  4. hi ya...cant help you on ringwood im affraid but I am also looking to join somewhere southampton way so let me know if you find out. where do you fish at the moment?
  5. Hi all I was just wondering if any of you were memebrs of this at all? I used to be about 8 years ago but it seems to have changed alot. Is it still good value? and what are the best of the lakes on the membership? I always remember a lake called Pewitt in Winchester and also stoneham lakes being the best. Cheers
  6. hi josh, where abouts in southampton are you? I live near hedge end and if you are willing to drive this way there are lots of small lakes which would be ideal for beginners...River Farm in Titchfield, Newlands in fareham. Broadlands is an excellent lake and can produce some crackers but not ideal for first timers...stick to small lakes as fish will be easier to find then when you get your skills up then hit broadlands and bigger lakes. as i say, im hedge end way and am usually on the bank most weekends...even at the moment so if you fancy joining me I would be more than happy to give you some tips cheers
  7. not sure mate but their peri peri chicken is awesome... oh wait, thats Nandos!!
  8. Hi ya tony i was a member there about 4 years ago...some really good lakes on there at the time...Stoneham lake is brilliant. Also lakeside in eastleigh and Peewit in winchester were also really good. also highbridge gravel pit just the other side of eastleigh too. they were they best ones (places where i caught most/biggest) Not sure if these lakes are still on there but if they are well worth joining.
  9. I would say boilies would be an excellent shout, if the fish in that lake do not know what they are they will not be wary of them and should feed confidently on them once they get the taste. I would say make sure you chuck a load in and around the area your fishing and you should be on to winner. as a back up to this, I found a very small lake near me once in the middle of some woods when walking my dog and saw a few carp on the surface so i decided to fish it later that day, I took 2 rods and put a boilie on one and floated with some corn on the other...I had around 15 fish in 4 hours on the boilies (kevin nash banana) and only 1 on the corn. they were only around 8 - 10lbs though. as I was packing up a rather annoyed farmer turned and told me that fishing was not allowed. I apologised and ended up having a long chat with him. he said no-one ever fishes it and he didnt even relalise there were that many fish in there. Have a great time in france. let us know how you get on.
  10. its not worth it to be honest as there are plenty of other places i have found which i prefer and do me just fine. plus i can stay as long as i want.
  11. i suppose that is a fair point. it is however frustrating seein as I used to live within the 12 miles and was a member for 3 years but now i have moved 4 miles down the road all of a sudden i have to wait 2 years to join?? But as i say there are plenty of other good lakes around here so not really the end of the world.
  12. They like to stick to thier own in Chi. daft really!
  13. i beleive it is for us 'outsiders'. i live just over 15 miles away I tend to go to the Yateley lakes now...just as good.
  14. there is a long waitin list for membership for C&DAS. I used to be a member there and wish i had stuck with it as cant back on there now and it used to be great!
  15. Mill Farm in Petworth is always good, not many 30lb plus but a few and tones of 20's. Also menards, quite pricey and have to pay joining fee but there are some lovely fish in there. google menards horsham and check the gallary. MBK leisure just outside petersfield. Barons pond or the coloured ponds. good head of 20's plus they have a specimen lake aswell. hope this helps.
