  1. Been fishing here a fair bit up till Nov 12. Yes the crayfish are a pain but there are always ways round them if you know your onions. The previous post says they are no problem!? well they woulden't be in November as crayfish are mainly dormant thru the winter! I tried every so-called crayfish proof bait such as garlic flavoured boilies, maize, and tigernuts. The crays here eat them all.. I love this place though because I usually have a lake to myself in the week, which means I can move swims 3 or 4 times a day with no hassle. I haven't caught many carp here so far and it's a real challenge - I've been carp fishing 33 years now and these are the hardest lakes I'ver ever fished, partly due to the crayfish but mainly because the stock is very low.. don't believe what the owner tells you! If your like me and just want a beautiful lake with no hassle from other anglers and no litter with sensible rules then this is a norfolk paradise. I for one hope the crayfish 'problem' remains as 19/20 anglers never come back here after one session.
  2. I fished Blickling in the 2009 season, it's a great looking estate lake with a small but nice head of carp. trouble is the National Trust bailiffs there are very anti-carp angler... Baiting with boilies has to be done on the quiet and if the bream anglers see you heavily baiting they tell the bailiffs. So your always on your guard, there's long running bad feeling between the bream and carp anglers here which ( for me ) totally ruined the place. Also there's only a few prime carp swims near the out of bounds which everyone wants and where the majority of carp get caught from. Last straw for me was being told by the head bailiff that my rod pod could only be placed in the centre of the swim I was in!?. There are some beautiful carp in there but it's not a water for hassle free fishing or many runs..
  3. The fishing at West lexham was only available to those who rented a cottage nearby, I did this with a few friends a number of times as the fishing was quite unique - being a moat, for the area. I've recently moved near to swaffam and am also stuck for a good syndicate or club water this year.. I'll probably head back to Bradmoor lakes as it's just up the road from me. I've fished it on and off for over 25 years now and though it's not the water it once was, it's not all bad. I'd say the noise from the adjacent A47 is the main detraction.. I'd rate it best as a floater water.
  4. Hi, Yes it wasn't easy to find - just off the A1065 swaffam to fakenham road I remember. The carp went to 30+ but all the larger fish but one were poached as it was not bailiffed.. theres a few remaining west Lexham fish in the syndicate lake at catch22 the big leather is one - now mid 40's i believe. Also some went into Kingfisher lake at lyng and made 40's there I think before thier demise.. So they were/are a good strain of carp.
  5. Used to fish there and I eventually bought the remaining carp - all 23 of them.. It was restocked with trout only I remember.
