its all in the name - CHOD rig, it is designed for choddy silty slighty weedy bottoms, the rig with light leads settles on the choddy bottom and the bait is presented perfectly, cast a choddy into a 6ft weed bed with a 2-3oz lead on and you will catch nothing IMO !!!

ok lads just leave it at that, i understand that weh using zigs and floater fishing i actually havnt lifted a scale either point taken, but i still will always use leaders or tubing for extra safety im not brainwashed by Pukka Munga Fairbrass he has learned me alot and is a mint angler, but i used to go fishing before id even heard of him and all these other big name anglers, and i would catch carp safely then aswell leave it at that fellas, opinion accross !!

defintley mate spot on there fella, anti tangle defo, but that leader rubbing againts the flank of a carp when fighting it into the net would cause minmal damge weras mainline or braid mainline will

nor not a safe feeding zone for carp to feed on, that was a sick remark fella, the safe leaders are to cause minimal damge to fish once hooked, its simple, mainline when streched is like a cheese cutter razor wire, the leaders are designed for fish safety would you rather catch a carp but damage it in the process ? fish safety is the upmost priority

not necessarily mate, leaders are designed for this reason, SAFE-ZONE leaders... Ask Fairbrass himself PUKKa !!!!

safezone leaders are designed to prevent harm to the fish once hooked, mainline without tubing (in certain situations like the line being wrapped around the carp) will take scales off of a carp and damage the fish, braided mainline would probably cut a carp in half fish saftey is upmost

a critically balanced bottom bait, as said the weightlessness of the bait make the eye of the hook light and the point heavy,

yea wadsworth mate, you had them all in 3month jackpot mate, lads on there have blanked for years on end without a bleep haha, it is alot harder now.. so did you catch lucy out of there or had it already died mate, she was the teeside record at 39lb.... yea im on a number of waiting lists already fella, and yea looking at at 400quid plus..... im willing to travell mate to the better water regardless of the price, nd yea ripon racecoure would be ideal but last i heard the night permit was full and long waiting list... so..... cheers mate

Hello i am from the north east area and i currently fish a local syndicate, low stock 28 carp in 3.5acres, aswell as numbers of day ticket water, i am looking for a new syndicate or club water within 3hours ish drive so Yorkshire, cambridgeshire etc... i know there is absolutly loads out there but would like so peoples opinions ect... im currently looking at Ashmire, Woolpack, Cemex waters etc,,,, Thanks

as willi said each rig works in its own right, obvoiusly chod rigs are designed to be fished over choddy/silty bottom, But i will almost always cast a choddy at a showing/boshing carp and aslong as i feel the lead hit the bottom i know its presented ok, choddys are not for weed, spend abit of time casting a lead around and then decided on rigs, hard bottoms - bottom baits,,,, silty - choddys/stiff hinge etc. ....etc etc etc IMO anyway good luck fella

hello mate, if your fishing a D-rig for a choddy or stiff hinge rig, basically you put a rig ring on the D of the hook then using bait floss you tie the pop up onto the rig ring... i prefer not to use rig rings and bait floss the popups straight to the D on the hook, also always use cork ball pop ups vital

im in hartlepool mate, n yea i have fished most waters up here and there is nothing to target IMO, iv been fishing Cromwell Lakes, Newbridge Lakes, A1 pits, Fairview Lake amongst other aswell, im on a syndicate in bishop auckland that has 2x teeside 30lbers, i am gunna be joining a water call Ashmire in the cambridgshire area, any ideas on better waters? cheers mate
