It seemed that going out in the boat to drop your rig was like ringing the dinner bell as we had instant bites after, including a double hook up. Another group from Preston! Brian Cunny caught the first 40 of the week with a 41.14 Mirror but was beaten in the end by Mick Z who landed a stunning 43.10 lb Mirror but unfortunatly Mick got Brian to take the photos! (obviously he blamed the camera!) Final catch report was:- Carp: 25.02, 28.12, 36.10, 41.14, 29.04, 36., 21., 24., 43.10, 33.03, 36.02, 32.04, 37.08 & 38.11 lb plus 11 doubles. Hi Everybody The 2011 season if finally underway and what a fantastic start. The Paul White party were down from Preston on their first French fishing trip and they seem to have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience - so much so they are coming back next year! Within 24 hours Matt Balch had destroyed his PB of 22lbs with a stunning 40lb Mirror and followed it up with a 64 lb Cat, then he beat his PB again with the same 44.10 lb Mirror that came out earlier in the week to Vinny Balazs. Ben Snell caught the biggest Cat at 66 lb and Paul White had a 57lb Cat. The final catch report was: Carp:- 40, 28, 21.4, 26.2, 44.10, 37, 38, 20.02, 35, 44.10, 37.5 & 33.12 lbs plus 36 doubles. Catfish:- 66, 55, 64, & 57 lb Their comments were:- " Had a fantastic week. Food and fishing were 5*. Booking again for next year. Biggest Carp 44.10lb, biggest Cat 66lb. Thanks to Dave & Sue for their hospitality and help during the week" (Check out their photos on our website) As I said a great start to the season.

The Moore Family joined us for a 2 week stint on the Carp Lake and despite soaring temps they had some beautiful catches, here are their comments:- CARP: 27, 34, 37.02, 24., 33.4, 30, 37.6, 37, 43.04, 28.04, 28, 31, 34, 28, 28, 32 & 38.4 lb + 2 Commons at 25 lb GRASSCARP: 43.05 & 37 lbs Very good stamp of fish. The Griffin party of 6 joined us for this week and were split 2 fishing the Cat Lake and 4 fishing the Carp lake. We finally got some much needed rain and the weather was pretty changable all week. Here's their catches and comments:- CARP: 33.15, 35.01, 37.02, 31, 35, 33.04 & 38 lb, 29.10, 24.08, 26.03, 26.09, 26.10, 28.04, 24.06, 27.08, 28.05, 29.07 & 24.05 lb plus 30 doubles. CATS: 50.02, 47.15, 45.05, 45.03 & 47.11 lb Good lake caught some big good looking fish. Nice lakes, hard water, fish with plenty of bait and the catches will come – lovely carp. Greg Walker and his fiancee Kia were with us last week and between shopping trips Greg managed to land 4 beautiful mirrors weighing in at 37, 36, 32 & 31lb. See our website for the pictures. Their comments were "Great lake, caught some good fish including my record fish so far! Nice people, we really enjoyed our week here. Sue & Dave are great hosts and couldn't do any more for us.

Had the Phillips party out last week and they had an incredible week with a total bag of over 1000lb between the 4 of them. Here is their catch reports and comments.... Place is spotless, fair play to the owners for their efforts in every way. Loved the place, fishing fantastic. Great average weight. No complaints whatsoever plus to cap it all PB Carp! Hi, We are Dave & Sue and we have owned Windmill since 2003 when we moved to France with our two sons. We wanted to create a fishery where people felt relaxed from the instant they arrived and as the lakes are completely secluded from all outside distractions, no roads, trains or industry, there is complete peace and quite and no stress. We never lose sight of the fact this is your holiday. We have 2 four acre lakes, one of which is a dedicated carp lake with Mirrors, Commons and Grass Carp up to 45lb+ and a Catfish lake which combines a "runs" water with Carp up to 35lb+ and the adventure of Cats upto 75lb. There is a lakeside chalet on the banks of the Carp lake which has beds for up to 4 people, a sink and a gas fridge and hob, all linens are included. The toilet and shower are by the main house and is available 24/7 together with fridge, freezer and charging facilities. We also do a food package which always receives rave reviews, check our feedback on the website. It is possible to book the whole venue for upto 8 anglers or each lake with a max 4 anglers on the Carp lake and 3 on the Catfish lake, or even just an individual swim.
