Sorry to bring up such an old thread but I used to fish Bure Valley back in the Mid 90's when it was run and owned by Mike Smith (R.I.P.), Geoff was the Top Rod and good friends with Mike back then.
I didn't realise it had re-opened at all, when was this? Did Geoff secure the fishing rights for the Carp Lake or did he take over the whole fisher business as it was a trout farm also. Just interested in what happened to that lake and it's elusive, hard to tempt Mirrors in there.
I had some of my best teenage years Carp Fishing there Catching some lumps to 26lb+ which back then was a HUGE carp for a young teenager... my have times moved on lol
