  4. my freind fished there a couple of years ago said it was a cracking he has got his pitchure on there web site with quite a nice mirror recomended the place to me, so i booked on last year found the women a bit narky on the phone thought nothing of it ,anyway turned up that morning found quite rude and not very helpful found my own way to the swim 5/6 i think its a double peg ,as i got there to lads where just coming off our pegs they was,nt to impressed with it on that note me and my freind left for poolhall, but what they did say if we where going to stay was try and stay of the boards and have ur clutch set tight sit on ur rods there is some crackers in there

  5. how you doing i fished it for the first time last year everyone was catching. As has been said any peg is good i walked round to the right past the boat house it seemed any bait worked its a good place to get a bend in the rod but i warn you now most the fish are in a bad way with most there lips missing

  6. so i'm told, the farm holds 40 fish with 4 of em being 30's, last time "rita" came out it was 37lb NOT 39lb like people keep saying, mid week ticket might be worth it, but not for me, too many people are putting me off it, including fosters own staff, £150 mid week, maybe, but is no way worth £300 notes, 1 member told me it hasnt fished the same since it was netted, and this was down to ALL the fish being handled, another bloke who fishes penns told me he had all 4 30's in half hour, because he was there when it was netted and apparantly had pictures took with all 4 30's, 2 acres means any more than 4 anglers and its pointless setting up, no cover from trees as its in a field, and i didnt think the pegs were too clever either.

So....hams hall has more 30's and is a bigger pool, and another thing to think about, is that fosters dont own the farm or the fish in it, geoff hemus does, who also has another water of his own, and had the farm netted to take 20 fish out and put into his pool, which left the stock level at 40 fish, and if he's done it before, there's a chance he could do it again, and i also dont like the fact that geoff and foster let there friends fish it on the regular and they wont have paid £300 like you will, and i hear the bailiff fishes it 2 nights a week too so that would leave room for only 3 more anglers, basically, its a 2 acre hole in the ground with 40 fish in, if thats your cup of tea, then crack on m8, i will be going hamms hall personally, everything i've heard about the farm has come from fosters staff and farm members, one last thing, 1 of the members i spoke is a good angler and he took 6 fish in 1 year out the farm and apparently he done really well, i work that out to £50 a fish !

tnks for the reply think i will give it a miss and go with moorgreen res
  7. Why don't you ask for a MID-WEEK ticket (the farm) $150?.....defo worth a punt for $150 mate.

Also a better choice than ham's hall. 8)

nice one ziplead i did,nt know they did that don,t mean to sound stupid but how does that work is it monday to friday :? is the car park secure aswell,do u know what sort of stock is there sorry for all the questions just trying to get a feel for the place thanks again alan
  8. Ian, i'm stuck between hams hall and fosters "the farm" i went down hams hall a couple of weeks ago and spoke to Dave, he and 2 others were workin on the water, which in my limited experience is a good thing (meadows springs to mind), fence up so fish cant escape, and 300 notes, its the same for the farm, but after speaking to a couple of farm members who swapped there tickets for winter tickets on penns, i dont think i'll be entertaining the farm, so Dave, hopefully i'll see u soon, with my reddies, at the ready !
hi carpdotjohn i am going to look at the farm on sunday what are your opinons on the place is it worth a look and £300 notes any bits of information would be much appreciated pls
  9. its a cracking water , some cracking carp in there but god is it weedy , dam wall goes down to 20ft + deep , if you wanting a runs water dont go to moorgreen as at times it can be a right head banger of a water .

most swims are wood barked and have pontons to fish from .

car park is locked and your car is safe as safe as can be there is toilets and a shower to use .

if you need any more info please ask i try to help best as i can .

hi pippa when u say weedy is that the whole res or r there clear patches to fish or is it a case of just dropping it on the weed. also does it get busy there was looking for a peacefull place with the chance of pulling a few 20s out thank for the help
  10. I'm also planning on starting on Moorgreen later this year. As you say, not an awful lot of info out there, though I have seen a few bits of info in the middle of some rambling threads on other forums.

However, a couple of the guys at Planet Carp have fished there quite a lot. I'd recommend popping in there and having a chat with them.

Hoefully catch up with you guys down there later in the year

    Pete

thanks for that a bit of a trek for a chat me living in nuneaton but going to have a look at the place when its thawed out so will defo pop into carp planet then :D
