Depends on region, I went to Limoges back end of August last year and it was red hot during the day and then minus at night. Early morning and late night saw most of the action. I think it’s the venue history you need to be looking at. If it fishes well during the day then the hot weather will probably kill it for you, if it fishes well at night then it won’t be as much of a problem.

How big is the lake/pond? It only looks about 1/4 acre on google maps which makes me wonder how the heck you would land a 70lb wells without going through every line on the lake

Good luck for Yorkshire, all the decent waters are heaving on a weekend during the summer I have looked all over the place and here is my shortlist so far. I generally use a size 8/10 Korda wide gape with 12lb Esp ghost, tied knotless knot style. Not had any problems what so ever. Caught cats up to 44lb on this rig and carp to 37lb

The two lakes on the wakefield book are tough, they have some big fish but not many. If you want an easy water check out Swillington Park Fishries. http://ratherbefishing.co.uk I would ring before hand as they did close some of the lakes due to weed at one point. If you manage to find any decent non syndicate ones around leeds please let me know as i have been searching for months.
