  1. Hi Folks, Has anyone fished Harlesthorpe recently who can possibly pass on any tips on what is working? Or maybe you have some help tips in general about the venue. I plan on having a few hours there as my next session. Thanks, Jon.
  2. Right, will try it next time. So fruit works - something like Richworth Tutti Fruttis then. I've got a bucket of the Nash Monster Carp Pellets in tutti frutti too. Will try at some point, I've just not had much luck in the past, nor have I seen anything that remotely resembles any fish action. Ta.
  3. Thanks for the reply. Which peg would you fish from on the top lake? I hear the far side is quite a bit shallower than the pub side. Do you get much action tight to the island? Ta.
  4. Hi folks. This one is targetted at those that have a bit of knowledge of Shireoaks nr Worksop. I've heard many things about this place, about it being good and about it being not so good. My main question here is which of the 2 lakes should I fish as many people have different stories about stocks in both, namely carp being moved from one to the other etc. Ideas? Thanks, Jon.
  5. I keep hearing good things about Shireoaks. I'm just a little burned from blanking twice in a row (not to mention everyone else on the lake catching little to nothing) but I know I can't let it put me off. What suggestions do you have for fishing Shireoaks? Especially this time of year? I'm interested in hearing more about Lakeside, what sort of tactics/bait work there this time of year? Thanks for the responses guys.
  6. Thanks. I'm fully prepared to blank as I've heard all about winter and how it can be for carp fishing, I'd mainly just like to find a fishery that's going to be worth visiting now and during the warmer months of next year.
  7. Hi Folks, I've had a little mooch around the forum but couldn't find anything so I thought I'd post (my first one at that). I've recently moved into the area round Worksop and would like to find a decent water to fish. Admittedly I'm quite new to the sport and have not caught much. I have tried Shireoaks twice in the past month or so and blanked both times (along with everyone else basically). I also recently went to Bain Valley Fisheries in Tattershall Thorpe and got 1 carp, 1 run and a few bites which was quite fun for the novice. What I'm looking for is a decent venue within say 10 - 20 miles at most, or even local to Worksop, that's going to be alright this time of year (or all year round preferably), either day ticket or annual ticket. Any ideas? Jon.
